Inquire with the Observer

I had lots of favorites. However, I always have dug Colossus. Here was a nice guy who just so happened to turn his body into living steel and crush everything in sight when circumstances required.

It wasn't until adulthood that I realized Colossus was gay in some of the comics. That doesn't change anything, but I don't know what it says about me.

BTW, the 15 second clip of Colossus changing in X-Men 2 might be the best superhero moment of all time. I got giddy in the theater.

The following was e-mailed from a loyal fan in Yemen. Yes, that's right, Yemen.

"Why are you obsessed with Hatearade?"

Cause you shouldn't drink it, that's why.

You can only pick one vegetable you're allowed to eat for the remainder of your life, but you can prepare it any way you want. What veggie will you pick?

Corn. Now, I know some people debate if it is a vegetable or not, but I say it is, and it is delicious.

If the jury rules against corn, then I'd go with green beans. Sauteed with olive oil, a little butter, and onions. Delicious.

This one is strange, folks. This question was written on the wall above my computer in orange Sharpie. I have my suspicions. . .

Observer, why have you not made a Home Star Runner reference yet?

Good question. First, I think Home Star is a little past his prime. Second, if you get me started, I'll likely not stop. However, for my fans, here is The Cheat.

Would you consider yourself having more of a mathematician's mind or an artist's mind? Why?

Hm, good question. I suppose I'd say I have a mathematicians mind, but an artist's spirit. I find myself drawn to numbers (and words, actually, the two are similar), and have been known to be doing weird addition problems in my head when having a serious conversation, but I couldn't see myself spending my life doing math for a living. I need something with a creative outlet.

My job allows me to be pretty creative. I used to write, and still do on occasion, but I'm not disciplined enough to do it regularly.

Have you ever considered other forms of creative outlet? Yes or no to each of these you may have tried.

Have you tried...

Pottery?

Painting?

Drawing?

Singing?

Playing an instrument?

Woodworking?

Have you tried...

Pottery? No. I'd be too depressed a ghost wouldn't come help me.

Painting? I've considered it, but no.

Drawing? I do a little, but its doodling.

Singing? In the shower and in the car alone, I'm amazing. When people are around, somehow, I stop being awesome. I can do some decent VP, though.

Playing an instrument? I played an instrument from 4th grade to college. If I wasn't in an apartment, I'd dabble more.

Woodworking? Nope.

Fin.

When was the last time you had a REALLY good tickling session? Why don't you attend gatherings?

Hmmm...

The last time I had a REALLY good tickling session was a couple months ago.

As for why I do not attend gatherings, that's a harder question. Partially due to fear of the unknown. I'm sure I'd have an amazing time, and leave with tear-stained cheeks, but at the same time, I wonder if I'd just sit there, petrified to say or do anything, ya know? I also would find it difficult to just up and disappear for a couple of days. That's hard to explain.

Though, I will say, the thought of brownies (and yoga toes) make the idea much more fetching.

Normally, I do not succumb to peer pressure. However, in your case, I may make an exception.

Alright we'll replace peer pressure with...um...sweetly serenading. Can I sweetly serenade you into going?

Have you considered going to a local munch first so the pressure of sessioning is gone?

Yes, I have. I had a TMF celebrity sighting a couple times when I was in college. It was pretty awesome.
