Ha. In 1982 I was living in Houston. Woke up one morning to find snow on the ground and to even call it a dusting would be generous. It didn't even entirely cover the front yard. But regardless that mighty, muscular city of some four million shut down. Watching the morning news, the highways were mostly deserted. I called my boss at home and he said don't bother coming in today, nobody is going to work. By about 10 that morning it had melted off and people began venturing out. Having grown up in Kansas, I had to laugh at the way people reacted.
