Its just you and HDS, and you two can't be everywhere at once. And as great as I know Val is, even she cannot be here all the time.

It may seem like its thinking too far ahead before we're actually there, but I see it where we'll need at least 1 moderator on at all times. The problems will stop quickly, and sometimes before they even begin, as users will think twice before starting something that leans more toward an argument than what could be a rational discussion.

But right now, its just you two, and I can't stress enough how that is not enough. And I only mentioned before that we don't need more mods right now because that was under the idea that you two and exotickle and noeyes could make yourselves more present as moderators.

But I changed my mind because no one can honestly expect two people to handle a forum, while the other two are constantly absent. We need more modd, definitely, I don't even know why this is a poll, if only so people can choose a favorite, and is that really the way we want to decide this?

I may be stubborn, but I'm not stupid. My vote also goes to Mistress Valerie. She speaks my language, thinks as I do, and if I do not become a moderator, I have complete faith that she will do what I wanted to do and make the difference I wanted to make, in my place.

Look man, what your problem is, is that you want to enforce way too many rules that nobody enforces. That is why nobody will nominate you. It's not that you're not capable, it's just that your idea of moderation doesn't fit too well here. Things are relaxed here, and I hope it'll stay that way, but you just don't want it to be relaxed. You'd be better off if you went and tried to be a mod over at GameFAQs. That place is out of CONTROL, and there's TONS of moderation going on all the time! Think about it for a second. The more law you enforce, the more people want to break the law. Goes the same here. We probably smoke more pot in this town than all of Amsterdam, and it's legal there.

This place is relaxed but only because our mebers naturally behave themselves. I dont think it's as much of a freeforall as you think it is, SheDevil.
In any case...having a mod available at all times is definately not a bad idea. We should take it in steps though and see if it comes to that.
I really really wish people would make more use of the Report Posts funstion.
Actually, looking at the forum now the report function isn't even readily available. It needs to be more visible than the little icon. It used to be a labled button.
While Im not on the site 24/7 my email is checked constantly. Any reported post comes right to me and I am available to check my email pretty much all day.
In light of recent activity Im going to have to check the site much more often (as Vlad said). I dont know how available HDS is but maybe he should make an effort too...as well as any mod TT decides to add. Hopefully TT (the site) will calm back down soon.

And for the record, I genuinely respect Val, and would have voted for her anyway, whether this proved to be a win, lose or draw for me. I've known her long enough to know what a blessing she is. And her posts here, in this thread, serve to show me that the two of us have a common goal and feel just as strongly about the issues of moderation itself.

It would be a good idea though if TT, HDS, and myself (and the other mods if they're around) got together in a chat and hammered it out though. We have to work alongside whoever is chosen and I think it would be good for us all to have a pow wow and discuss it. Your thoughts, gentlemen?

I believe that this is the only way it should be done. Popular opinion is nice and all, but its too fickle to be used as the single factor in making a decision such as this. I believe it is only through sincere and honest deliberation between the owner of a site, and his/her moderators of the super mod level (there is no equivlent to super mod here, so you are to be considered, by default, a super moderator), should arrive at a decision.

I think its painfully clear there are only so many candidates of interest right now, so I do not believe you three (five if the other two participate or care) will have too much of a hard time arriving at a sound conclusion.

I would like to again thank everyone who has expressed confidence in my character, temperament, and abilities. I am especially heartened that people from differing viewpoints (Vlad, MayDay) are equally confident in my ability to be fair and impartial.

I agree with Vlad's suggestion that someone should be available around the clock, and I would therefore support adding two staff members if possible. At one time I had considered proposing certain names, but I don't feel that it would be appropriate for me to do so at the present time because of issues of propriety.

I think it's too confusing that the name of the site and the name of the admin are the same. We should keep calling the admin "TickleTheater" and start calling the site "SunglassesDude".

I usually get on for a major check every day around three to fourish, and then pop back in every fifteen minutes or so until nine thirty. And you get emails from the TT? I haven't recieved PM notifications OR reported post notices since the forum went to version 3.whatever.

Sounds good, although I doubt that I will have a problem with anyone chosen. You could shoot me in the eye and I'll still love you, no matter who you are.

I use TT when refering to him and bossman when talking to him myself.

And I refer to TT as "sir" even though we are the same age. He was born in March I believe, and I in August. Although I do know his real name. But I don't feel its appropriate to use it in public unless he's stated somewhere that it's ok to do so.

You dont get emails when there is a reported post? Check your settings, maybe you have something turned off.
I used to get reported post emails only to come on and see you had already fixed it. Now that I think of it I've been the first to respond recently. I dont have it set to send me an email when I get a PM but I do get an email when someone send me a PM and my inbox is full.

If we are opening a position for a second new mod I can think of two others I think would do well. Notably kalamos and Jaynin. Kalamos is going to be mod of the RPG forum when it is built and I think it'd be a good starting point for full modship if we need one. Like Missy Val he libes overseas so his hours are also complimentary.
Jaynin runs the ATF. Managing those nutjobs has to be a job and a half so you know he's got experience. Besides...people liked the idea of another girl, right? 😛 😀

I have seen respectful posts...though long at times....by Vlad, and nothing but attacks from others. I never understood why, and I'm not about to listen to others to change my mind. he's a good guy as far as I can see. I'll stand with him...do your worst and attack me as well...I care as little as a man who walks over an ant.
