Here's an interesting question, and I'm actually being serious for once.. I've heard plenty of posts about mods whose "hours compliment the board" or some such......as in, their hours work great. Is this because they're up when the rest of us are not?

SheDevil, yes 🙂 For example, I live in the time zone GMT+10, so I can typically be online between 9 PM to 6 AM Central Time. I usually am here all the time, owing to the lack of local cultural entertainment, my dislike of television, and my and my hubbys' work hours.

I would imagine thats part of it. It gives them plenty of time to review threads before anyone gets to them or correct stuff mods in our time frames didn't finish up. The only downside is if they work in a completely reversed time zone than we do in the US. Because then they aren't on when we need them. So the usefulness of "after hour" moderators is a balancing act.

Its when we don't have mods available when the bulk of the users are on is when its a problem. Thats why its still important that we will have/should have multiple moderators on during peak, active hours to "compliment the board".

EDIT: And it just so happens a large portion of our users are in the US, so it would only make more sense that most of our moderators are also in the US. The benefit in having someone come in late or early has it's uses however.

If it must be just one name, I would say Mistress Valerie: she is polite, kind, makes intelligent comments and has given plenties of information on many different topics.

Kalamos would be a great choice too, but he's not interested, at least so far. I hope he is going to be moderator in the RPG forum.

I don't think theres any suspense to this at all. Its obvious its a landslide victory. If theres any twist to this at all however, its the possibility that there will be no new mods at all, which makes sense since no one cared until he brought it your attention after I brought it to his.

TT is a busy boy. 🙂 Appointing a new mod (if any) is one of a couple things we're waiting for him to have time to do. As much as we all kick collective ass TT does have other things on his plate. 😀 Patience is a virtue. 😛

i dont know if my opinion matters, but i dont think we really need any more staff member, moderators, etc. The ones we have now are fine and do a great job. They are very down to earth and open minded.

Ok... I just got back from a three and a half hour drive back from college and I'm still woozy... so I'll say one piece and finish up when I'm lucid. I did see my name come up in this discussion at one point; I am an admin of the ATF and probably the most active one there, that is true.

However, as some of you may know, my access to TT is denied roughly 90% of the time due to my Internet connection (through a Lutheran seminary network, it's filtered x_x) so I don't think that making me have any position of responsibility would be good right now, simply because I can be on for maybe an hour or two every few days.
