I made my own Sea-Kitten, "Gobbledygook"!

I don;t know about that, Ray. I agree that some of the things they've done have been more then a little over the top and crazy, but i'm pretty sure some of the things they have tried to do, and the general philosophy (ethical treatement of animals) are not bad things. Now, of course, that doesn't mean stopping the killing and eating of animals, IMO, but it does mean doing so in humain ways.

Changing the name of something doesn't change what it is. Sea kittens are still slimy, slithery things. The attempt is to make us feel bad for fishing, oops I mean "sea kitten-ing". Make them sound like these cute, adorable animals. :aww: You wouldn't want to hurt a cute little animal :innocent: would you? :sarcasm: And if you do fish, then you're a cruel bastard who tortures animals. :disgust:

Actually Ray, while humourous, that video does make a good point. Way too many people don;t have their pets nuetered or spayed, and because they don;t watch their pets, they end up having unwanted kittens/puppies which end up being at best adopted by somebody, and at worst,thrown in the sac thrown in a lake. I remember my sister relating a story involving her friend finding a box of new born kittens on the side of the rode during a rainy night. Several of the kittens were dead. They managed to save the rest and take them to a humain center.
 
I'm as sympathetic toward the fluffy fuckers as the next person. However, when it gets to the point where we are trying to save the fucking fishes? Then I'll have to get a little "WTF" on their asses.

Fish have proven to be a food resource even before anyone here was alive. It's only a matter of time before PETA tries to save the fucking plants that provide us with vegetables and fruits, because talking to them helps them grow. So they automatically must be living beings that need to be saved.

Yeah, but that scenario is kind of icky all the same.

As for that other video, I'd say comparing dog breeders with the KKK misses the mark in a few different ways. And I don't say that as a fan of dog breeding.

Just as a factual point, though, PETA's campaign against fishing is nothing new. They've been at it for some years.
 
About ten years ago I was in downtown Indianapolis and saw a very amusing PETA event. This woman was leaving a bank when some activist ran up to her with an open gallon can of red paint to throw on her coat. The activist reared back to his side to throw the paint but was watching that it didn't spill on him. As the forward motion of his arms began he looked up and he saw she had side stepped him and behind her was the biggest man I had seen in a long while. The paint hit him square in the chest and splattered everywhere. The activist turned to run but the big guy caught him in about three steps.

Let's just say that the activist was too busy with pain and bleeding to feel very self righteous.

The lady got in her limo and left.

I had a pleasant lunch at The Red Garter.

Yes and again elevating this above the "human" problem of unwanted pregnancy and comparing animals to people and KKK ers to AKC ers is totally out of line..

Sorry but I take nothing that they do or say seriously and never will....

Animal rights and problems are NOT more important than those of people and this group just doesnt care about people rights.... all in all it is just another huge organization raking in money which they use to pay salaries for jobs that neednt exist....

But that is what America is all about....lol...
