I'm not a hardcore fan or anything ... but I do like me some Harry Potter.

It was good. 🙂
I would recommended it to people who follow the movies .. I never read any of the books besides the first one so I don't really know if it followed it 100% or anything.

K... I won't give anything awayyyy ... but ... Malfoy is now completely ugly and I am ashamed to say I once thought he was a cute. Bummer, man.
Alright .. that's all I got. Your thoughts?

😵

IMO the books are better than the films, because the actors and screenplay in my imagination is better than that portrayed on screen. That said, I will be going to see this film. I haven't seen a movie on the big screen in ages, and I'm looking forward to it.

Ah .. I could say the same for Twilight! 😛

There's no Harry potter threads because this is an adult forum. There shouldn't even be any damn twilight on here. No Twilight, No Jonas Brothers, No Harry Potter.

I mean, I'm glad kids are reading. A lot of them can't even put a sentence together. So at least there's that.

This.
The Harry Potter books really did revive an interest in reading in the UK. Would I prefer to be reading something else? Sure, but there's a part of me which loves the escapism of magic.

Of course, it might just be me being a perv and wishing, "oh, if only I could use spells on people for my own nefarious purposes..."

I read the first 4. Then I realized I was way too old to be reading that shit.

When is there gonna be a rest from this shitty tween entertainment. I thought this was an adult forum. No Jonas Brothers. No Twilight. No Harry Potter.
Gotta agree with you there.

Then read Tolkein. That was fucking literature. This bullshit that kids are worshiping as good writing, is just sad.

It would be nice if they got started on Potter in Elementary and then by the time they got to Middle School/High School turned on to other books. I distinctly recall reading The Hobbit in Middle School while everyone else was nuthugging Harry Potter. As far as Twilight? Read something by Anne Rice instead.

Seriously. I mean, it's one thing if you're a kid and reading that shit. That's normal. But if you're old enough to legally be watching tickling and forced orgasm porn, you're too old for Harry Potter. Pick up a book that isn't from the "young adult" section.

PS. Santa isn't real.

I read the Hobbit when I was 8, and LOTR when I was 12. Go figure.
I guess you could call Harry Potter a step down, but it's simply variance for me.

At least you know the difference between what might be fun, yet asinine reading and actual books. Some of these HP and Twilight fanatics do not.

Yes, but in your case you had already been exposed to better literary work and were thus able to differentiate between a superior and inferior literary work.
