I just talked to Tracy. They ended up doing surgery on both ankles. All went well. He's in recovery now...a plate in one foot and 2 screws in the other. He'll now be setting off alarms in airports as well as with the ladies. 😱 We just have to watch that we don't piss him off from now on. Getting kicked in the arse by someone with a metal plate might hurt...even if he IS an old man.
Phone status update... No cell use allowed in the room.
I'm very glad to hear the surgery went smoothly but mostly just devastated by this news. I can't believe this could have happened. And just as you were starting this new job.
I'm selfishly at least very glad I got to see you this weekend before this happened. It meant a lot to me at NEST when you remembered me from way back even though I hadn't posted in a long time. And I've so enjoyed becoming friends with you since.
Ray, you are too important to the TMF to be away for long. Pleeez pleez get better soon.
Oh and if this is your nurse, Tracy, please take Ray to a different hospital.
jeezus christ, Ray! i TOLD you those Black Ops HALO drops would do you in!! now look at ya!
here's to a speedy recoup, ol' chum!
Ray is hanging in there, though still in a good deal of pain and having difficulty sleeping. Outside contact is being discouraged until he gets more rested and is in less pain.
For those who've asked about where to send things (and anyone who simply hasn't asked yet), they'd prefer that we wait until he's out of the hospital and settled into the rehab center so there's room for things and he's more able to enjoy it.
In the meantime, Tracy is printing our comments and stuff to share with him. So, feel free to post all your goofy pics and whatever else here to help lift his spirits.
So.......read any good books lately?
