songs from the 70s

We just be filling the site up now.......😉

Them Ozark Mountain Daredevils.....another I'd forgotten about. That's the beauty of these threads.

Not sure if any of these have been posted in this thread yet lol

The 70s was the greatest era for Rock Superbands. The list is almost endless.

Smoke on the Water

Angel. Took a bit of digging to find these. They were never a household name.

I've seen photos of them in old New York Rock Scene, Circus and Cream magazines before Bugman, but I had never heard them before until now, thanks.

Dave Mason

In my circle of friends then, I was the only one who liked their music. And the only reason I know of them is they opened for Uriah Heep way back when. Of the four I posted, Mariner is my favorite. Love that haunting melody and the reference to Admiral Lord Nelson.

This band wasn't either, except for here in Canada and the UK. They were Rush's favorite band and toured with them until they broke up in the early 80's. There were only 2 of us in my group of friends who liked them, including me lol My best friend's dad turned us onto them.

Max Webster & Rush - Battlescar

Max Webster - Oh War!

Max Webster - On The Road

^My favorite verse from On The Road 🙂

I'd like to keep my pearly whites, I don't want a shirt to keep a fit
I want a good steak once in a while and a checkered cab to go once in style
Freedom some say is when you get back home
Howls of laughter, sights and sounds
Movies and groupies, one day lover, next day down
I'd like to keep my pearly whites and have a little stride in life.....

Todd Rundgren {I saw him approximately 1yr ago with Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band}

Todd Rundgren, one of my favorites. Saw him back in the 70s, on the same bill with Robin Trower and Jethro Tull. What a show. Didn't know he's still touring.

And Neil Young, an artist I always wanted to see and never got the chance.

Steve Miller Band

I hope you'll excuse me, I'm all over the place

Every wedding I've attended over the past 2.5yrs, this song has been played somewhere during the party after the reception. I have no idea why, but it's a great song.

We've all had a first love, I know I sure have, this reminds me of mine.
