the "baseball only" thread

I'm hoping that Choi goes on another home run hitting binge. 😀

What I hope and what I expect for the Dodgers are two different things.

I expect NT to remain optimistic about his Cubs, right up until the day they are mathematically eliminated.

Well then this should not take very long. I think the Cubs will be eliminated by the end of the month. Does this mean NT will go away for the winter? 😛

I meant mathematically eliminated from both the NL Central and the NL Wildcard. That won't happen until September, I believe.

The Cubs can come out of the break losing 18 straight. That could finish them by the end of the month. :evilha:

Losing 18 straight is possible, it has happened before, but it is not likely. 😛

The Cubs are currently on a winning streak, tf4f, fyi, and also we are due for a long winning streak. Besides, if the Cubs are eliminated, then, the Mets were doomed from the start. If the Cubs are going down, the Mets are not too far behind, if they aren't eliminated already 😛

Besides, at least we have a rotation. All the Mets got is Pedro, and he is bound to break down. How you like that, George?? 😛

It is amusing to see Mets and Cubs fan fighting. 😀

I'm glad there are no outspoken fans of the hated jints on this forum.

I am glad of that too, Mils, however, I would like to see Barry Bonds return and pass Babe Ruth at least

I have no problem with Bonds returning, as a DH in the American League. 😀

The Dodgers will come to Shea Stadium in one week. I hope they are playing better by then. 😀

The Dodgers host the hated jints tonight, at 10:40pm eastern time.

Good day so far. Red Sox score in almost every inning to win 17-1.😀 So far I am just disappointed the Blue Jays won. Now if the Mariners can come beack and beat the Orioles, I'll be happy. :dogpile:

I will be happy tomorrow morning if and only if the Dodger win tonight. 😀

Tonight was an awesome game between the Atlanta Braves and New York Mets at Shea Stadium, with Tom Glavine and John Smoltz, former teammates with the Braves for 15 years from 1988 to 2002 as opposing starting pitchers. Both pitched fine ballgames, each man going 7 innings and allowing but one run. For us Braves fans, we had a happy ending, as Atlanta scored a run in the 8th, and hung on, to win 2-1. All in all, it was a great night.

You know Natural, The fact that my team is right with you with no pitching staff( as you put it) and your team is where I am at with your team having a pitching staff does not say a heck of a lot for your team or your manager. So stick that in your pipe and smoke it. 😛
