The Blue Jays would have been right there if Cy Young winner and contender Doc Halladay hadn't have gone down for the season 🙁

The SD Pondscum have set a record: .506, the lowest winning percentage by any team for a full season that qualifed for postseason play. 😛

With the Dodgers eliminated, I just want to see some interesting close games. 😀

This year I want the L.A. (Anaheim to me) Angels and the San Diego Padres to meet in the World Series so that it will be an all-Southern California battle. It won't be easy but I think they can do it. The Angels are my team, but the Padres have never won the WS (been there twice, got hammered both times), and the Angels already have (2002), so either one would be fine by me, as long as the champions are from my area. 🙂

Who cares, they made it and that's what counts. At least give them that, even if you don't like them.

Matt Clement hasn't been the same pitcher for the Red Sox since he got nailed in the face by a line drive in July.

While that is true, unit, he ust might dominate in the playoffs. Remember, nothing in the regular season matters now, a clean slate

I thank your 2002 Anaheim Angels for beating the hated jints in the World Series. 😀 (I have no idea why they changed their name to Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, but I think that's a bad idea.)

As far as the San Diego team goes, I give them nothing. I hope that the Cardinals sweep them away in 3 games.

Hey how about this irony?? Would you believe how well the White Sox do in the playoffs will ultimately determine what the Cubs do in the offseason?? We all know the Red Sox won last year, and if the White Sox win it all this year, this will force the Cubs to do some major moves, as it will be the last suffering team out there. How's that for twist of fate???

Unfortunately, yes. We do have a rule that even though we hate each other, we are all still in the city of Chicago. So therefore (no matter how begrudingly), we have to support one another. But come November, the hate is back 😛

The Dodgers are L.A.'s team and the Angels belong to Anaheim and the rest of Orange County; the name change was dumb, but they're still the same teams, so I don't care. But I'll never get used to it. 😕

I just meant percentages and regular-season records don't matter now, except for home-field advantage (and as you probably know, the All-Star Game winner decides that in the World Series). Both the Cards and the Red Sox are great teams and I wouldn't be surprised if they sweep the Padres and my Angels. But that's why these games are played, anything can happen and this might be the year for that. Go :angel:s! And I also hate the jints, especially Barry Bonds. :disgust:

I do like Mike Scioscia, he was a fine player for the Dodgers and is a fine manager for the Angels. 😀

Mike Scioscia rules! 🙂 Frank Robinson (manager of the Washington Nationals), on the other hand... :Grrr:

Jake Peavy is out for the season with a fractured rib, that will be devastating news for the Padres.

That's too bad. San Diego and Boston lost today, and the Angels are in trouble. So far, not a good day for my teams. :ermm:

I don't welcome injuries to any team except the hated jints. But I am rooting for St. Louis in that series.

Come on Angels, get some runs! What a time for Colon to fall apart. :ranty:

UPDATE: One run down, three to go.

I'm glad to hear that Milagros317! :bouncybou

It's very simple, really.
I hate the hated jints.
I have a strong dislike for the SD Pondscum, the Colorado Rockheads, and the Arizona Dickheads.

Your Cardinals are playing against the Pondscum. 😀

I am shocked at the BoSox performance today.... perhaps they were looking ahead too soon? 😕
