Easy buddy!!! I appreciate Yankee history and tradition. I am a baseball historian. I know more about the Yankees than most ( not all ) Yankee fans. People don't realize Babe Ruth singlehandedly saved baseball after the Black Sox scandel of 1919. I truly appreciate your team. I was having a little fun with you. I apologize if I offended you. I will let you also know that my dad was the crane operator that helped build Shea Stadium. That is one reason I am a Mets fan. Another is because my mom was an old Brooklyn Dodgers fan. So she stay in the National League and became a Mets fan. But my dad has MANY stories of drinking with lots of Yankees players and managers. My dad will be 81 in April so he knows lots of the old time players. Feathery since you are a bit older than I, it could be lots of fun talking to you about baseball. I hope we get that chance. One more time though, ( it is always worth repeating ) I have GREAT RESPECT for Yankee history. Without the Yankees, baseball would have died years ago.Feathery said:I'm sorry, but as I'm a bit older, I grew up a Yankee fan with the great Mickey Mantle, Whitey Ford, Yogi Berra and Roger Marris. When they built Shea Stadium for the Mets in Flushing in 1964, at first we thought it was another pavillion for the New York World's Fair, which was also in the same general location. Eventually, as kids, we understood that the Mets were the National League replacement for the departed Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Giants.
