Tower of Gargalesis (Tickling RPG M/F, F/F, F/M)

The Karma system is a hidden system that you won't be able to figure out until you at least get the Heart Crystal, and even then you get a sortof vague, color-coded mood ring measurement.

Karma can affect fights, and Deus has said it will change the endings and affect the last chapters.
  • Good Karma is gotten by not tickle torturing regular mamono, and (possibly, can't remember) tickle torturing the end of chapter bosses.
  • Bad Karma is gotten from doing the opposite of what I said above, torturing the innocent mamono and letting the bosses get away.

Deus also said that you'll alter later chapters slightly depending on which bosses you let go, as they'll supposedly make a return with new power and revenge on their mind.

sry i wasn't specific enough

Torture Tower Bosses: Bebe, momona
also tickle friendly mamono: honeybee, hathor, aello

don't torture other bosses: venus (she gives you nectar if you let her go), goblin (obvious), knismeshroom, bunny, fairy, ant, featherbug, slug.

I've tortured all of which I could... except for the Fairy Princess, because of the loss of Tickle Essence...

Argh! I can't wait for Chapter 3!!! Urgh!! I want it! *starts to venerate Deus ex Procella" you're my great Master... and by the way... the hand I can see opening my menu... is it yours?

Out of curiosity, what would be the best way to beat Mammona? I keep getting my core shot down to zero power

I tried using the core and it never worked for me so I just kept using my mage attacks and beat her. Worked fine for me, although I did it NOT on DWTD mode. It might be different on the harder setting.

Well for me I have two characters in DWTD, and though I could do some good with my mage it is my thief that is struggling

XD What the heck...I don't mean to be off topic, but somehow as I got deeper in the game of The Tower of Gargalaesis, I can't help but laugh on a couple of things that threw me off. I don't want to spoil this for those that have not seen it yet so I'll give a clue.

The first one that threw me off was when the Queen Bee was telling me the story of how it all happened before the tickling came in.

The Second was when I got inside a strange house that guided me by something blue and sticky. I read it the second time and BOOM what I read made me stop for a bit to crack up into laughter. XD

I see....I guess that mean that I made a mistake then....I've let go most of the boss I've encounter...including higher bosses....especially that crazy fast boss you have to slow down by using fire. Sheesh...how soft can I actually be now that I realized it it.

I'm stuck with that too...and yes I picked the warrior (Balance). It'll take a while for me to figure it out because I get no sign on weather I'm gathering them or not.

technically you can beat her without the crystal right now since she is sort of broken i think?

If that's the case, then she has one huge amount of stamina.

EDIT: I finally defeated that Momono....the only thing is now...I found the stairs to take...the door refuse to budge. If I have to get the key from the boss I just defeated in the tower....it was not giving to me at all. >_<

Sorry if I'm being annoying.

Theres a bug, Deus forgot to give you the key after you defeat Mamonna, after the update (which has yet to arrive), you can go to the third floor. Make sure you read this thread often or you will end up wasting time looking for something that doesn't exist.
Happened to me before XD

I'll be keeping my eyes open for it. I got the red feather, and is now trying to complete a few quest that has yet to be complete. Which includes leveling up AND collecting enough Essences for that treasure box.

Do remember FT Genikit that ToG actually penalizes the player the more they level up past the content safe zone, due to the regular enemies and bosses lvling up with you and scaling better. You'll only make the game that much harder until eventually making things close to impossible for yourself if you try and grind levels out in this game like you would in another RPG game. I stopped leveling once I finished the Snow Maiden quest line and the captain's first challenge - lvl 13 I believe. I think it would be wise to do the same.

Also, The Grudge quest leads to Paranoia using the red feather. I would wait until the next update though as she is currently broken. Deus said he fixed her in the next update.

So it would probably be good to try an alt, another game mode if you're not in DWtD mode, or just take a break from the game.

Actually I looked through the posts and one of the requirements for the true ending is to let go of the bosses so that they become super powered for the next go around. Also from one of the posts that deus had given for karma:

Certain Mamono, called Yusei Mamono, are more powerful versions of their weaker sisters. These Mamono will generally offer you a chance to punish them upon defeat. Be careful, as selfish actions, such as tickling dominated Mamono, causes your Karma Meter to shift into the red. Conversely, freeing these Mamono can net you rewards, as well as shift your Karma Meter into the blue.

So this is my theory, if they tell you to stop then do not do it since it makes you go to red. But if they are willing, go ahead and do it so you can get some blue.

Just so I know I'm right...the two or so times you need to run away...That IS Phoenix Wright music remixed, correct? :cool

I'll take your word for it...good news is that my color is blue (whew).

About DWtD....what does that mean? I've been wondering about that for some time and I'm alittle puzzled.

Second, I'm on lvl 19 because I've been trying to gain more essence...perhaps I should just deal with feather bugs and when the third bug come I flee. (Heads up, I already know that they get stronger when I level up...I've found that out from the beginning when I got up to lvl 2 and few people in the game have already warned me about it.

Third, I found that out the hard way when I was facing Paranoia...I can't beat her when she lights up certain color that makes her invincible against certain attack I make...weather it's regular or special. So again, I'll stop leveling up until the update come.

That's the biggest concern of mine as well: the only reason I grind is because I need money. Money's not so bad with my thief since getting weapons and armor through crafting boosts my chances of survival. But with my mage spamming the quiz was the only way to build up my juice stash without breaking the curve.

What makes it funny though you can't sell any items you got from the enemies or what you have already bought...that's something I've never encounter before.

I don't know...I actually find it okay. Doesn't make it very simple to get what you need to make new plans. ^^;

Ah, DWtD is short for Dance with the Devil (mode), AKA Hard difficulty. When you create a character, one of the questions it asks you at the start is whether or not you dance with the devil. If you answer yes, you're in Hard mode and the enemies are a lot harder (you think the Mage is squishy in Normal? You aint seen nothing yet 😛). Aside from everything being a lot harder, you'll also gain access to a hidden boss and sidestory - Calypso.

Goodness, lvl 19? W-wow. Remember when people were saying how impossible Lady Venus was because they had overleveled, and thought leveling MORE would make her easier? I can see the next content update being hard on you unless you stockpile those juices; particularly the boss battles. Yea, I'd just hold off now - Remember too you can only carry a max of 9999 essence at a time, so once that is reached you're just leveling for no reason until you convert it into money. Though, really, you shouldn't be having any money problems right now :blink Not like there's much to spend on, half of which you can get in the bar game (until it gets removed, so it would be good to stockpile).

If you start really craving the game again until the next update, try rolling an alt in the other mode and see what it's like - try another class and see the dialogue/event differences 🙂.

So that's what DWtD mean....honesty I picked no because it was going to be my first time playing the game all the way without stopping...I did try it at first...but the karma got me scare and I didn't want to end up having a bad ending. That would bring my bad reputation up.

Lady Venus was hard indeed, but I didn't try to level up at that time but I guess she was at a hard level because I may have done it a little too much without knowing it...I just kept trying because I know I had to think of a strategy to know when to heal and when to attack, eventually I won and yes I had to be sure I had plenty of juices to last longer.....however those juices would give me less than how much damage I take.

Actually, I be noticing that the maximum of essences I can carry is 10,000...but you can only give the chest up to 9999...weird. And here's my plan...I go to the tower and find the feather bug...every time her health is low, she calls for back up. When one come, I take the first one out....I do it again for the second one and flee once the third shows up and I take out the second...you'll only gain essence by taking them out and flee when the third is still around. try it and you'll see.

And Speaking of Chest, I finally completed it and I have to say...when I was asked to play with it...when the battled started...I instantly won without even doing anything. XD

I guess I can make another one and try it with someone else...but as a female this time since I picked male the first time. I do hope that won't be a problem, because I often pick that gender because if it's non-online game, I'm fine.

after the update (which has yet to arrive), you can go to the third floor.

actually no you can't go to the 3rd floor (I used an exploit I discovered a while back to get the door to the stairs open and your stopped after selecting to go to the 3rd floor by the guy who stops you in earlier versions even with the red feather)

I'd post how I got past the door but i'm not sure if deus would let me (I didn't tell him how I did it either so he might be interested in how it was done 😛)
