Checking out the newer version now. 😀

*facepalm* Are you serious? It's...a beta! Not the final version. I'm sure experience and difficulty will be changed in the final version, however the thing is that right now he's not really releasing these with the intent of 'challenging' us, but rather with the intent of allowing us to test the game. It's better this way because we don't have to grind any and thus can get right to the actual quests and such that need to be tested. If you want to lose so badly why didn't you just pick the Adventurer?OH EM GEE whats the seen whats the seen XD i r wana see it <,<
alright well everything seems fine now, though i kinda dislike the fact that you made all of the normal monsters, how do i put this... pansies? push overs? i duknow whatever it is they are super weak now, before i couldnt handle a giggle bunny easily till i was 6 now? i just look at their feet and the keel. and that was at lvl 3! one of my favorite parts of the original was the fact that the monsters would actually level up along with you so they would be harder and give more experience, im not seeing that here and im sleightly dissapointed.
i know you said that grinding isnt nessisarily a good thing here (which is kinda bad because then it forces the player to play your way rather then allows people to be over prepared) but one of your quests, heck two of your quests not only encourage grinding its almost a must at this point. it may change in the future but still. now im not the most grinding person out there but i do like to be prepared esspecially in a game where one loss loses the game i would rather be over prepared then evenly matched. if you make it so that being "overly prepared" is actually a bad thing it might and probably will turn off some players towards your game, do make it so monsters get stronger as you level but make it so that it is possible to be over prepared.
other then that everything is the same, i love the new bosses exept two things
one the oni is a total pushover, i went there fully prepared for a hard battle and she starts spouting out 5 damage i was saying "you've got to be kidding me" till she went down. i actually had to TRY to lose to her and it wasnt even easy because i had to downgrade my wepon and armor and go out of my way to not attack her, made even harder because the tkl magic now has a use XD
There's even something added after Chapter 1, if you keep sleeping at the camp maybe you'll get to see a special scene...it's a doozy!
.
sweet. can't wait. I have one question though. when you beat honey bee she says she will be at the eastern shrine and when I go to the east shrine in the forrest she isn't there. do I need to go there after ch 1 ends?
I haven't added her yet 😛 She's the biggest event in the game. She gives you help on your quest, on different Mamono, she can be romanced, she allows you to view the Bonus Scenes you've collected, she has a quest for you, she can potentially become a party member...
really?? cool one other thing I think I missed a boss? I have one slot on my codex that has yet to be discovered. know where I can find her? I got the harpie, larger goblin, dryad, and lady Venus. who is the last one and where is she???
all sounds good and interesting. as a side quest how about you have to put yourself in a ticklish situations and deal with them to complete XDWell later you'll get an item that will let you fight back the Mamono that is tickle-raping you in your dreams. I'll put in a prompt that will mention it may not be safe to sleep, and you should prepare for the worst.
I'm keeping that scene as a way to make helping the Fairy a bit more valuable. But I'll give some indication that something might happen.
I've got all the issues you mentioned fixed...I keep looking at the Fairy quest but can't figure out what's wrong with it. I've done it both ways and it completed both times. Might have been an error I caught after posting that link.
The ability to recall enemy torture scenes in your sleep in an interesting idea...to implement it that way, I'd have to revamp a few things requiring yet another restart. But it'll be required anyway with the big skillset revamp I made (trust me, it's SO worth it).
That said, I'm in the process of programming the Mamono for chapter 2. I'll post one last chapter 1 beta when I get a few more things tweaked. Then I'll start the arduous process of making chapter 2.
Just gotta think up some good side-quests. Oh~right I just remembered. I tweaked the Exp_List script. Grind all you want, you'll find it much easier to get experience in the correct chapter though.
Edit: Oh yeah the Grape Juice is just a regular item that you can get in the end-game. If you drink it, well then you have to wait a good 20 levels to finish that quest, you greedy little !@#$.
I have a question about the thief's Tickle Talk ability.
Are there gonna be multiple scripts for this? Or just the same taunts each time. That could be the deciding factor of if I decide to play through a second time as a thief or not lol
Man, tomorrow is going to be a lot of writing. A lo~ho~hot of writing.
I have 8 new Game Overs to write
8 new "Torture Her?" scenes (You'll get a chance to torture the Tickle Fairy, Giggle Goblin, Knismeshroom, and Giggle Bunny, along with four new bosses).
New items are being added to help keep things balanced...oh man. The thing I'm the most excited about are the Slimes. They're going to be a very big story element as opposed to being just throw away enemies.
And then the side-quests...I am going to be planning side-quests out the wazoo. I'm aiming at 10 new quests in Chapter 2. To keep those from getting boring I'll have to come up with some new puzzles or such. With any luck I'll be able to accomplish 10+ new quests a chapter (except for Chapter 10, which is pure linear) so we'll end up with somewhere around 90? I dunno.
I'll get Honey Bee set up so you can take advantage of your bonus scenes. Get her new quest up so you can start earning new bonus scenes. I think I'm going to update the Pub with a kind of "Tickle the Outsider" bar game or something, we'll see how that comes out.
And then there's the romantic subplot...I'm going to try to set that up like a dating sim. (Practice for a project I promised a friend I would do). Still trying to figure out who else will be romanceable...right now we're sitting at Honey Bee, Aello, and Lamia. Any suggestions, just PM them to me. Take a look at the Monster Girl Encyclopedia to see what I have to work with.
I'm thinking of adding advanced tickle spots, as was suggested to me in a PM. I don't want to add too many, but I'm curious if there are any spots you'd like to see? Given the design of the monsters I know breasts is a definite yes if I add more...
Hm...I know I'm asking for a lot of suggestions but lol this is just chapter 2 out of 10...
I think you should use them as a romantic partner
This thread certainly brings out the lurkers and I'm no exception 🙂
First off, great game and that's coming from someone who doesn't play that many RPGs. The monsters are cute, the writing superb and the quests unique and compelling.
Would it be at all possible to make the Captains Challenge quest a bit more rewarding? I'd effectively finished the chapter at level 5 but decided to grind my way up to level 6 to see what the Captain had for me (very little it would seem). I know this is building towards giving the player the best equipment later in the game but it was a bit disheartening to stomp through around 50 low level creatures and then get no reward.
An idea I thought of was some kind of scene involving the dancing girl from the pub, after all the Captain does allude to her potential tickle-punishment after he rescues you. Maybe he could teach the player a new tickle technique on her or something (or just let him/her get some revenge). It's just an idea and you can do what you like with it, I'm sure the game will be awesome with or without it 🙂
Also to the previous poster wondering about the Strange Chest quest, it's not accumulative you need to hand in 1000/2500/5000 Tickle Essence in one go to get the reward (assuming of course that was the issue you were referring to).
