Tower of Gargalesis (Tickling RPG M/F, F/F, F/M)

It stumped me too at first. It was the only place I did not check because I really did not think she would have been there.

Attention!!! A glitch regarding the feather bug queen!

I beat her and this happened. I don't know if it was because I minimized it but either way cannot escape this screen so I have to restart

Ahh lol that's why I couldn't find her!

Also a quick graphical note Deus, the sprite for the mum getting tickled at the gottom of Ramshackle house is wrong. She has that maid like mother sprite instead of the female warrior/dancer one you se for her

The first sprite is of the slug enemy who is sitting on top of her.

If things get tough nutman, farm the first tower floor to stockpile on potions and to buff the giggle goblin

Buffing the pet is all well and good, but a point or two:

1. You CANNOT use the pet on paranoia, she'll stop you instantly. So that plan is out. 2. For those of you not wanting to spend all your essence into leveling your pet, just hold off (on new playthroughs anyway) as long as you can and don't talk to her in the clearing. She starts at the same level you do, whatever that happens to be, and another pet is coming next chapter (I believe).

3. Deus, don't think Paranoia is easy by any means. I'm giving up for now. At lvl 11, I can't keep up, so good job in making something balls hard, I feel like you threw everything but the kitchen sink at us there. Guarded spots, status effects, ridiculous HP, whole nine yards.

4. Apparently the guy doing those mamono drawings is still making more (http://kurobine.sakura.ne.jp/). The site is a bit hard to navigate in japanese, but good to know we won't run out of monsters.

there are quite a few of those I cant wait to see in game. and makes me all the more ready for the next chapter since it is going to be a good one. I hope dues is enjoying his honeymoon though.

I'm going to grind for 18 so my mage can use that multi spell, though getting adrenaline restorers will be more harder

Yea, but if we grind up in this chapter, we may be improperly leveled for the next boss. Remember when some complained that they couldn't beat Venus at level 6? I'm waiting for the next chapter, I assume the quest will wait for me.

Oh, and I was playing through the early stuff...
-did lethal tickle get nerfed? It seems to only to 5-10% more than regular tickle, making it kind of…meh. Seems like lethal should be at least as effective as tickling a vulnerable spot. I can't even take down a goblin in one hit at lvl 4.
-if, after beating HB, you exit the forest to the south, the "I'm camping north of the forest" bit comes up, and you're magically there. Think that's new, didn't notice it back in the day.
-Tickle fairies are the weakest/lowest experience in the game. But, they always start with the dust move, which does a decent amount of damage, at least at low levels. I ended up always running from fairies, as they weren't worth it. Maybe that move should do less damage?
-The new stats make a BIG difference. Easy-mode (all 1's) evil Slayer is nigh unbeatable. It showed me a good feel for the differences between 1-4. Now to go through with a more interestingly customized character…
-This game is full of awesome.

I have a feeling I will need to be that level, at the very least in the way of paranoia so I can smack down the three fairies she summons in one fell swoop give or take. I kind of think I was underlevel after doing that feather bug quest

The problem here is that Paranoia will level along with you and, I believe, so will the fairies she summons. So, in reality, the difficulty of the fight is still going to be high.

Also, from what you've said, it sounds like you haven't even gotten to the hardest part of the fight yet, when she goes into "overdrive" and starts taking two actions in one turn.

Make no mistake about it, just about anything you do to try and make this fight easier, this is still going to be the hardest fight in the game yet.

Abadon - You're having trouble beating Paranoia as a mage? That sounds...odd. Spam Tickle Wisp the entire fight, it'll break the violet barrier which is the only one that matters to you (which will prevent her from going into Full Power by completing the spectrum).

Kill the Green Fairy first, then Blue, then Red. Then heal and go back to wailing on Paranoia.

When she hits around 25%, she'll use Magical Overload, which is basically "You're fucked" territory. Now, there is a relatively speaking easy way to win here...I'm not going to reveal it, but the rule of thumb here is, at that stage in the fight Paranoia is playing with fire and, if she's not careful, she's going to get burned.

You can beat her at level 9, but I'd like to mention that Paranoia's lowest level is 10. If you're a mage stocked to the brim with healing (Stamina and Adrenaline) items (there are 35 chests on your way down to Paranoia, get them all) with the right apparel, you should find Paranoia more feasible than the other classes.

Carnivore - Lethal Tickle is just a guaranteed critical hit. Originally, it probably targeted every body part but now that "Resistances" stack, that becomes outrageously overpowered. I'll drop the recharge on it to 2 turns though, but don't expect an update soon (still honeymooning actually). I'll also give it a base damage of 2 instead of 1 and we'll see how that works out.

The campfire scene was an oversight on my part. It was skippable before so I made it autostart, so um...I'll look into that next week.

Tickle Fairies are staying as is. I've grown attached to them (hence their importance in The Grudge). For what it's worth you CAN always run, but I figured since they ARE so weak, allowing them to at least peck at you is fair enough.

Anyone having trouble with Paranoia (and keep in mind this information won't make her easy):

Always kill the support fairies in the order Green, Blue, Red (Green's later status effects are insanely deadly. Punishment makes healing hurt you and Overdrive allows Paranoia to attack multiple times).

Remember the Fruit of Knismesis will heal every status effect.

Tickle Wisp is the only thing that can break the Violet Barrier. The support fairies are all weak against the flasks, and using the flasks on them will still break the barrier (Paranoia absorbs elemental damage). Primarily, focus on the barrier that cock-blocks the spot you can tickle the best:

Orange - Neck/Hips
Yellow - Armpits/Thighs
Indigo - Ribs/Knees
Violet - Belly/Feet

For you Slayers out there, you're out of luck (The Claw targets the Belly). But stick around and in the next update I might give you a helping hand.

For thieves, if you've hit level 12, you'll want to break Orange and Yellow because Piggy Back Tickle targets neck and armpits.

Again: When Paranoia uses Magical Overload, keep in mind that it IS called "Overload", an overload is NOT a good thing. You have a shift button, make use of it.

SO um...that's my "still on a leave of absence" update. So yeah, the remaining Superbosses won't be quite as overwhelming as Paranoia, but they will all be "If you don't know how to win, you cannot win" fights (which is what I was going for with Paranoia).

How can i get to the third floor?
It isn't available yet. You gotta wait for chapter 4 to be released just like everyone else, but make sure you do the "Snow Maiden" quests in the mean time. It would seem that the "Red Feather" you get as a reward from that quest chain is going to be required to make it to the 3rd floor.

Dues: Geez, you completely blew away my strategy guide with your more in-depth one. Then again, it would seem no one was paying attention to me anyway. Oh well.

I've noticed something though. Many of the skills in the game don't have specific discriptions of what their function is. For example, there's nothing that says "Piggy Back" targets the neck and underarms. I'm only suggesting that you add more discrpitions to the less explained skills in the game.

o.o wait, why would it only matter for me to knock down one barrier instead of them all?

o.o wait, why would it only matter for me to knock down one barrier instead of them all?

Orange raises Proficiency (she only has 3 attacks that use it)

Yellow raises Endurance (you're a magic user, this doesn't matter)

Indigo raises Agility (she's going to be faster regardless, this is moot)

Violet raises Technique (this is the only one that affects you, it increases her damage and reduces how much she takes).

Pure Magic (the element that all Magic spells the Mage has that aren't elemental) is the only element Paranoia doesn't resist at any point in time (except when Ancient Magic Dome is up).

Ancient Magic Dome makes her nigh invulnerable, so don't even bother attacking her when it's up. Especially since attacking anyone but Green gives Green another spell to cast.

Green will always go first, followed by Blue. After that it'll generally go Paranoia then Red then You. Sorry, you're slow compared to fairies and pixies.

I kind of go in knowing I am not the speedster, but I figured with that level 18 move I can wipe out the fairies in one fell swoop (probably)

Thing is, the fairies would level up and gain hp on you. So while you power up, so will they? If that is true, you'll never one hit them.

Ok ran across an interesting glitch. After completing the grudge. i talked to the fairy again and the grudge started all over again.

*Takes deus' advice and beats paranoia at level 15* And to top it off I got an honest to goodness healing spell for my mage on top of the accessories. Not too bad of a haul

You get more than that, spam Gentle Wisp for something cool. (Keep spamming even after something cool to get something cooler, keep going and eventually you'll unlock the coolest thing in the game yet if you can find it).

You technically unlock 6 skills by beating Paranoia. Fuck it, I'll spoil it:

Uses is total uses of all fairy magic spells.

Base - Gentle Wisp (Cheap healing spell for all classes)

100 Uses - Fairy Dust (just like the fairy spell)

200 Uses - Radiant Sensitivity (does minor damage and inflicts Hyper Sensitized on all mobs)

300 Uses - Magical Inversion (swaps your Proficiency and Technique)

400 Uses - Mystic Well (restores Adrenaline)

500 Uses - Coolest thing yet, I won't spoil as it's pretty overpowered.

Fairy Dust and Radiant Sensitivity are magic spells that use Technique so for most classes (barring Thief, Mage and Adventurer) uses Magical Inversion will make them stronger. You can use Magical Inversion a second time to switch the two stats back. The swap wears off after battle.

>.> I know I will be using that cure spell because that was actually one of the things I was hoping for because I wasn't sure if I missed out on the honey pot

Well I beat paranoia with a level 9 slayer before she ever got the indigo barrier up. So i guess i missed out.

now i see what i was doing wrong.
i kept wacking her barriers when she was alone.
3 of them would keep healing her (thought it was a misprint)
thanks deus

now if i can just figure out why i keep letting her go.....
