[VXAce] Chaos Tower

Got a chance to do a bit of a run through this morning, but haven't finished it yet. I'm very much liking the changes, but I have a question/possible bug...

With the slime girls, they seem to use the special attack where they trap the legs every round and do over a hundred damage each time along with their regular round attack, essentially giving them two attacks per round. Was that intentional or was it a mistake? Or am I just being overly concerned with it?

Either way, game is looking good. Kudos to Cheshire for his awesome-as-always art and to you for choosing him. Looking forward to the next update.

By the way, I didn't ask before, but... is there some side quest in the village? I've made a quick exploration and found none so far, but I might have missed something.

Nah no side quests sorry.

Hmmm...not sure how to fix that one. I'll look into this. Thanks for the compliments too by the way.

EDIT: I'm going to set up the "kickstarter" donation but I how should I set this up? I don't want to use the same thing Gardner James uses since I can't promise anything for reward levels but I do have stretch goals in mind.

Episode 2 will require around $180 for artwork. If it goes over that, I'll either put the excess money towards changing the pictures of the main character's class you see in the menu or artwork of the monster girl bosses reacting to their weak spots tickled or I could just put the excess money into episode 3. I'll have to check on how much the stretch goals would cost each.

Also, I'm thinking of packaging up episode 1's artwork into a Zip folder for you guys to use yourselves. I'd like to keep to my word of creating a resource pack. Cheshire's cool with it. What do you guys think?

Do you really need an answer to a question that could be rephrased as "hey guys, do you mind if I put around a bunch of awesome pictures of tickle-monster girls so that the next games will feature beautiful customized art instead of pixeled crops?

Let me think.

Hmmmm...

Hmmmmmm...

...hell no, I don't mind at all. :stickout :stickout :stickout

Alright then. 😛
Here you go! The ZIP folder kept failing to upload to TT so I'll have to upload this to Mediafire.
Here's the package.

They're all original size so you'll have to resize them yourself for your own games. Also they need to be PNG so that there's no white background.

I would like some help trying in trying to figure out how to set up this donation thing too by the way. I can't do a Paypal click-to-donate thing either since I run the risk of not getting any more donations and stopping at under target.

Kickstarter-like projects work since if they don't meet the target, the donator doesn't pay for it.

Gardener James used offbeatr. Have you looked into that?

Like I said before, it needs donation reward levels and you need to pitch your project to that website before they create a page for you. You have to explain why you think it would work and what reward levels you would add. I can't add reward levels since I don't know what to do for that and because it would be a nightmare for me to keep up for people who donated at those levels.

Reward ideas:
  • Name inclusion in the credits / thank you section / README.txt of the art pack.
  • Inclusion as an NPC in the first game the bundle's supporting.
  • Request for a type of scene in the game.
  • Selection of a monster type for Chesh to draw, or input as to pose.

I'm sure James could weigh in on the "why it would work" thing; his success might also lend credence to the likeliness of your funding being successful.

Hmmm...okay. I'll take those into account and ask James how he got in.

Okay, well, fuck offbeatr. 28% is a shamelessly large cut.

Good news! The funding went great!

Bad news, they took quite a fucking chunk of it for a "fee". Actually really surprised how much they helped themselves too, it's actually a shocker. Out of the $535.00 raised I ended up getting $384.50. Which again I'm still really really thankful for but, holy fucking shit that's not a small fee.

So for future reference, nobody ever use Offbeatr.

Yeah it's larger if it's outside America. Indiegogo I know takes off about 4%. It takes off more if you make it flexible funding though.

I think something is wrong, it won't let me download the latest version of the game. What do I do?
