I'd really appreciate feedback from you guys, it's part of what drives me to keep going.
You need only to ask :cool
THE ART
The art is magnificent (I had purposely avoided looking at the posted images before; I prefer these things to be discovered along the game). The two bosses in particular, and the unlikely "human" bunny girl are my favourites. Kudos to Cheshire, as always.
THE GAMEPLAY
Quite good. The strong point of the game, so far, are the boss fights; they are well crafted, carefully balanced, and tailored around the core features of the individual monster girls. I don't want to spoil anything about the plant boss, but personally, I found the fight really funny and satisfactory.
I played mage and the overall balance I experienced was ok, though I did not buy all the available skills so I cannot rule out completely any problem yet.
The most difficult thing for me was the inevitable attrition you face while climbing your way up the tower; while the random fights per se were well balanced, teleporting gems are insanely expensive for a beginner, and understanding when it's the moment to go back before you are forced to spend 3 healing potions in the process can be tricky. I managed to somewhat reduce the issue by focusing on buying mana potions and taking advantage of my self-heal out of fights, capitalizing on the better cost/efficiency ratio of a mana recharge over a health one. This however forced me to almost utterly abandon the use of my magic outside of self-healing, and also brought me to avoid buying healing potions at all; honestly I don't even know if all classes could do that, and it's not immediately intuitive for a beginner. Of course there is always the option of mindlessly grinding near the entrance of the first levels instead of exploring the tower, but I'm sure you wouldn't want to encourage that.
Suggestions: cut heavily the price of teleporting gems sold by the mimic, or alternatively make them way more likely to drop from random foes. Furthermore, while I understand the need to support the local economy, 30 golds per rest at the local inn is a robbery! They don't even serve you breakfast, or let you tickle the maid a bit!
THE WRITING
Good, no major problems that I could see; just some occasional typos here and there. A minor disappointment that I had, was that in the plot dialogues and even during the game over scenes my character never spoke with "her" voice.
THE PLOT: PRESENT, FUTURE (and some unrequited suggestions...)
So far everything is a mystery, but from what I gathered in-game, that was your intention. It's still too early to understand why the Chaos Tower has appeared in this land, or what connection do it's inhabitants have with tickling. I guess the crystals are meant to be some kind of early hint... but we'll see. I would very much like if you began to unravel these mysteries in the next chapter; a second intriguing hint that I would really like to explore, is the implied existence of a faction of monsters that do not adhere to the moral code of the succubus (as in the words of the mimic). It's easy to see here the potential for a series of playful, lighthearted encounters with lots of tickling and enjoiment, and many opportunities for plot advancement, or even secondary quests. Not to mention that it would be wonderful to give back some love to that poor mimic. Seriously... all alone, closed for days in that dark box... it would be nice to be able to cheer her up.
Finally, I have this perverse idea that you put in my mind with that alraune fight... could we have a cutscene that actually *shows* what our character implied - that is, the succubus boss punishing Hana for her failure? That would be a real treat.
BUG REPORT
Island map ---> the sea is apparently flagged as walkable for my PC. Either that, or my mage has Jesus' powers included in her skillset. Which admittedly would be cool... but still, better to report it. Just in case.
Tower Level 3 ---> wandering around, I occasionally had a random encounter with a monster with no avatar, no name, no fight or reward, and instant victory.
Web Shield ---> the skill seems to be bugged. I tried using it against Hana, but it didn't shield from damage at all; then during the following turn a sentence "Hana's web shield is torn apart!" appeared, as if she was the caster.
