What Were Your Worst Childhood Fears?

I couldn't even watch that video Beckers posted--blame Ursala from The Little Mermaid, but large things scare the crap outta me. Like, if I watch one of those "top ten biggest undersea creatures" videos or something I'll be on the verge of a panic attack :/

One fear that I'm slowly getting over is being left alone. Parents divorced when I was seven, best friend and only confidant got dragged all over the country and was in and out of my life, mother cares more about drugs and alcohol than responsibly raising children--whatever the reasons, it led me to having some not-so good for me friends in the first few years of high school. Luckily I was the one trying to influence them for the positive, not vice versa. I will say that it took poor Senshi years and years and years to drill through my head that everytime I screwed up and said something that upset him he wasn't considering moving back to Wales >/./<

Kraaaakeeeens

Edit:

Krakens are cool and they terrify me. The ocean depths? Holy hell that is a scary place, even knowing what humans do know.

When I was a kid, I had this immense fear that spiders or bugs were on the underside of the toilet seat, so because I used the bathroom I'd have to check under the seat. D:

Bahahaha me thinks you watched the movie arachnophobia too Coggy. That exact scene is from it, I also did like the same thing when I was younger. Don't do it now cause I don't fear spiders at all anymore. Also dat shower scene *Shudders*

I also feared the Arachnophobia toilet seat scene as a kid.

Oh, I remembered another one. Attic doors - those little square trapdoors over your head. I had a pretty traumatic experience with one of those once in a wax museum, and it took me several years before I could walk under ours normally rather than edging along the wall around it.

This movie is the entire reason for me having a strong aversion to spiders. Saw it as a child when my brothers were watching it. Before that though, it was really just bees/wasps. Really wasn't afraid of anything else.

I have actually never seen arachnophobia, I was just terrified of spiders from the start. LOL
I still sometimes have to check the toilet seat though, because I'd actually HAD a spider crawl over me from it, so I'm just so very glad I never watched that movie, then. o_o;

Also, speaking of toilets, as a child I was always weary of hands reaching up from the bowl. I don't... know why. I got over that when I was around 8/9 but for a while I would always have to check and make sure no hands were going to reach up.

Did you play any of the Zelda games like MM with the hand coming out of the toilet? XD

I literally had to look out the window at our moon just to reassure myself after I played the first part of that game D:

FFFFFFFFFFFFF-
GDI CAL LOL

Staying on topic though - I used to always be terrified of worms too when I was a kid, because I used to run around barefoot and we had a lot of animals. I got ringworm one time and my aunt being so old fashioned decided rubbing alcohol and using tweezers was the best solution. A 6 year old watching these things being pulled out from their own body... scarred for life. Even now I can't touch them anymore, though I'm not like terrified of them.

May as well say insects are a no go for me anymore, in general.

Spiders? Ants? ...worms?!

PFAH!!

I think it's time, my dear Theaterites, that I tell you all about Hawaiian tropical centipedes...

No wait nvm too scurred to talk about those demons o.o;

They are surely no more fear inducing than house centipedes.

orly?

Have one bite you at 3 in the morning, then come back and say that. >_>

And make sure it's at least 8 inches long - a fat one, with a black body and bright orange legs... *shudder* (Okay, it was actually a milder tropical species that bit me but those fat ones do exist and they can melt skin. ;_; )

Though I must admit, the house variant you mainlanders often have to deal with do look way freakier, and they run faster...I can see how one can easilly develop a centipede phobia. ^^;

AHHHHHH those thiiings!
Yeah we've had one just kinda... drop from the ceiling. Then BAM IT WAS SUPERMAN ACROSS THE FLOOR. Guuuh they're just... no noooo. Significantly less terrifying when I realized they weren't the skin melting or venomous kind but......... still not a joy to look at.

I use to always have a fear as well of women...

I've actually heard this one a lot throughout the years!

Our tropical demons have a tendancy to crawl into and curl up in shoes, and they love creeping underneath fabrics, like bedsheets and loose t-shirts. Oh, and they're practically immune to Raid.

Okay, I'll stop now. :lol

Legit, I still have a worm phobia from an incident when I was 4. Some kid in my pre-school class thought it would be funny to put a worm in my hair. My hair is naturally thick and curly, and at that age it was well past my shoulders length-wise. Ultimately, it took about 4 hours to get it out....bit by bit....

Dalek, I hope a bird poops on your windows.

And by that I mean I'm sorry but you made me check under my desk.

I have a similar story but its more recent and involves a beetle. D:
