Whatchu playing?

GREAT story mode, I haven't gotten into the individual fight mode yet...
Yeah, agreed. I know fighting games aren't reknowned for their stories, but this one had the best story mode I've ever played through. Let me know who your best character ends up being - I tried Raven, but as much as I love the character, her fighting style was too technical for me. I wound up becoming a devout Catwoman player. Though I'm still naff at it - I went online and became Nightwing's bitch within a few seconds. It was embarassing. Like scoring an own-goal in football at school.

I'm currently playing The Amazing Spider-man 2 game. It's not bad, but something I'd recommend to get if you can get it cheap. It's a lot of fun (the swing mechanic alone is worth buying for as you properly have control over your left and right web slingers) but I get the feeling that it could have done with a few months of polishing before it was released.

I tried Dark Souls 2 and hated it. Everyone goes on about how it's brilliant that it rewards perseverance and springs fatal surprises on the player, but I see instantly killing people because of something they'd no way of foreseeing as a crappy cheat that kills the fun. If I wanted that in my life I'd drive blindfolded.
Thanks for the tips on Spider-man 2. I've been eyeing this one up myself, but with Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros, and not to mention the PS4 on the horizon, I have to be choosy with what I get.

I also avoided Dark Souls 2. I don't mind a difficult game - I love games like the Mega Man NES series and the old Ninja Gaiden games, that can be pretty tough at times - but they're also better suited for a short attention span. Dark Souls 1 seemed like it'd be fun if you were willing to sink loads and loads of time into it, and I just can't stay on one game for that long before getting antsy and having to go blow something up in GTA.

As for what I'm playing now, tonight I will be playing Kirby: Triple Deluxe for the 2DS - a game I just picked up today after pre-ordering it last week. 🙂 Love a bit of ol' Kirby.

I was gunna come here and bitch about Diablo 3 being a total let down but I ran out of room before I could even mention the watered down PvP. And I can right fully so having played D1, hellfire (D1s unofficial xpac), D2, and briefly playin LoD. Blizzard got me good lol. from greastest disappointed areas to least would be
1. D3 ACT 1 is same as the original Diablo
2. Dueling - PVP
3. Character builds.
4. Over done gear. 147K weps?? -_-
If you've haven't played the first two I might recommend trying it. If you've played 2 you're in for a let down. And... I only ever heard a hand full on bnet say they played 1 so, but if thats the case dont get 3 and destroy the nostalgia of childhood years. After all, the ONLY reason I play games is b.c "...he is known to mortal men as Diablo" - Cain.

Yes Diablo 3 was a bit of a disappointment, I feel that it is the general consensus on that game from almost anyone I talk to who played it. I personally haven't tried so cannot comment, but I was trying out a game called Path of Exile that can be seen either as a rip off or a huge homage to the original Diablo games with a few unique twists.

I've been playing starwars online, wizards 101 (yeas i know its kidish but meh), sometimes skyrim or borderlands 2 all on steam

Paths of Exile is pretty good in that it allows you an absolutely insane level of customization for you character traits, but I felt it was a bit souless. It just didn't feel like a living world. It was just randomly generated maps with X amount of enemies on it.

I played Grim Dawn which I thought was one of the best Diablo clones out there (I prefer it to Diablo 3).

I'm a huge Star Wars fan and loved the Knights Of The Old Republic games, but I just couldn't get into the Old Republic game. It was just too much effort to complete missions and ended up just grinding XP. It's a pity, because I desperately wanted another KOTOR game, got it and just didn't like it. Which probably pisses off Bioware for pandering to their fans lol.

really? even playing alone i foudn this game awesome, the story lines are what kept me going

Well the stories were really well done, it was just the game-play that couldn't hook me. I just never felt any real urge to go back to it.

To be honest, I'm not a huge MMO fan, and while TOR could be played singleplayer for the most part, it's geared towards playing with others which just annoyed me.

Marvel Heroes Is Kickin' Rad

Hey thread. Do you like Diablo style shit? Do you like comic book mens? Do you like a developer that is still trying to make up for their awful launch by updating all the time and throwing free stuff at you, yelling "TAKE THIS WE'RE SORRY"?

Then you should play Marvel Heroes. I, knicks255 Esq., know absolutely nothing about comic books. But it doesn't matter, because it's a super good game with fun combat, an absolute buttload of characters, each with like 30 different skills, and there's a part where you fight a T-Rex with rockets attached to it.

Let me take you through the starter characters, you can pick one of:

Black Widow: RUSSIAN SPIES WITH GRENADES, OH SHIZNIT
Hawkeye: Purple suit makes you the pimpin'est archer on the block.
Storm: IT'S RAINING MEN! and a bunch of status effects and aoe but mostly MEN!
Colossus: Fulfill your Russian Steel Man fantasies with this tanky bastard.
Human Torch: Burn stuff. Move fast. Burn more stuff.
Black Panther: He's a guy in a panther suit, less creepy than it sounds.
Captain America: Show your patriotism for the land of the free and also bash dinosaurs with a shield.
Luke Cage: Awwwwww yeah, SWEET CHRISTMAS! Like any awesome guy, Luke summons his pals to help him find Doctor Doom and get back his 200 dollars.
Punisher: Shoot everything. All the time.

And by playing, you get currency to buy more heroes if you want, like Gambit, Ghost Rider, SQUIRREL GIRL, Emma Frost, or Deadpool (don't buy deadpool). You can, for a cheaper price than any specific hero, buy a random one.

There's a 9 part story, co-op options, a crafting/enchanting system, bonus modes like defending the X-Mansion from random supervillains and a PVP mode that's kinda like League or Dota if you're into that kind of thing.

And it's free, with microtransactions if you want to individually buy costumes or heroes for cash (don't do this unless they have a BOGO event, they do it a lot.)

So you go to the website or your Steam Powered Thingy and you download this. Ignore the awful reviews, we have a better dev team now. Everyone who does will get a personal hug from me while I play Luke Cage, most badass man in the world. Knicks out.

For the record, anyone who has a fondness for Kirby (particularly the classic platformer games like Kirby's Dreamland, Kirby's Adventure and Kirby Superstar) should definitely check out Kirby: Triple Deluxe. All the charm of the oldies with updated sound and graphics, collectibles to hunt, and a couple of proper decent minigames. I'm usually a "get it pre-owned a year later" kind of feller, but this one was good value for money, I thought.

If you guys are into racing sims Gran Turismo 6 is the way to go! 1200 cars and 70 tracks. Its the only game I know of where you can race NASCARs door to door at Daytona Internation Speedway then tandem drift a Trueno with a Levin in a AE86 shootout at Twin Ring Motegi!

I'm currently playing Warface for the 360, free to download free to play, it's just like call of duty without the money

It took a little more than just a few pennies but I finally managed to get a custom/hacked version of Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions on a custom 3DS XL cartridge. I'm in nostalgic RPG heaven right now. ^_^

I was really surprised by the story in that. It's really good. And it gave plausible (in comic book terms) reasons for how each person could fight heroes who would normally easily outclass them brilliantly. Unfortunately, I was rubbish at the game..

So was I until I went to the Settings menu and found that I could set the difficulty in the Injustice Story Mode to whatever I wanted. On my Vita I need to set it on Easy because the controls are not as good as the console. On PS3 I can win the story on Medium but it takes me several tries to win some of the later battles, so I just choose Easy if I want to have a good time.

I also found the Classic Battles mode, where you fight a series of battles as each of the characters and get to find out the ending of their individual storylines after the main adventure. I screwed my back up over the weekend, so being that I'm a piping hot mess right now, I have nothing better to do but play video games, surf websites, and maybe write a little porn. 🙂

Aside from the screwing up of the back, that sounds like a pretty wicked weekend to me. 😛

I have a little trouble with Injustice, too, so I also have to turn the difficulty down on it. I'm usually alright at fighters, but for some reason the Netherrealm ones just bulldoze me. I can play something like Dead or Alive on a high setting, but Injustice and Mortal Kombat murderize me.

After a friend dragging me on it. I've been playing Second Life a little lately.

Very complex at first but it gets easy once you learn about how the stuff works. I've been playing for about 2 weeks and I'm still learning new stuff. Its really fun though with friends.

Talked myself into it

OK, I'm going out tomorrow and buying a PS4! Along with COD Ghosts and probably a copy of LEGO Marvel Super Heroes if I can find that one used, just to have something to play until BATMAN: Arkham Knight comes out. I think the faster processing, graphics, and "no load screens" that I've heard so much about will justify playing the games on the new console the rest of the summer; if not, I've still got about a crapton of PS3 games to tide me over until new release season...

Who else plays old school NES games style? I don't care about all these new fancy games with their "better" graphics. Nothing beats playing Ghosts 'n Goblins on a crappy CRT.

At present, Company of Heroes 2, Warframe, and Titanfall take up my time. Love them games. Warframe was hard to get into, as enjoying it best requires you to buy a bit to replace starter stuff for more fun stuff. And stuff.

I do play modern games, but the truth is, lately (the last year or so) my gaming has been 50% modern and 50% old school (Mega Drive(Genesis)/SNES and earlier). I've played through a bunch of Mega Man games (2 is my favourite - I know everyone loves 3, but I hated it - I found it felt unfinished and, honestly, many of the deaths felt downright cheap). Looking forward to playing Mega Man X.

I've also been playing some of the difficult games, like Ninja Gaiden (on which, at this point, I can get to world 5 without breaking a sweat) and Castlevania (that road where you get assaulted by a million hunchbacks gives me nightmares).

It seems that, lately, many people have been favouring the old classics. Seems that the flood of annual sequels, paid DLC and in-app purchases is making people appreciate a time when games were much simpler.

I thought Mega Man 2 was the one everybody loved? It's the game that put Mega Man on the map.

Has anyone played Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment or SAO: Hollow Fragment? I'm not sure if Hollow Fragment is a sequel or the english dub. Anyway, I just finished watching the anime and my god was it awesome! Uhh Another thing, how do you guys get the games that are japanese based? I really NEED this game! lol

I finally finished Mass Effect after like 3 lost save files and a year of being distracted by other things. Now I'm on 3, after breezing through 2 in like a week because I liked it so much. If you're curious, decisions are below, in white so you have to highlight them, spoilers obviously.

Spared Rachni Queen
Left Ashley to die
Wrex Survived
Sacrificed the Council
Promoted Anderson
Everyone survived the Suicide Mission
Punched the reporter. Twice.
Tali found Not Guilty
Kept the Genophage Cure data
Overwrote the Geth Heretics with Legion
Destroyed the Collector Base

Been playing Child of Light as of late, a great rpg, the storybook graphics make it more fun.

Just discovered Wildstar, having a lot of fun with that game.

Otherwise, just counting the days until Destiny releases on 9/9/14.

Right now I'm friggin addicted to my iphone games 😛
