Jay and the Americans .....If anyone has ever heard that god awful song "only in america" where Jay sings about "land of opportunity" and "a poor boy meeting a rich girl like you". This songs drips with the worst kind of corny sentiment and could only be sung by a sentimental idoit.

Some people love 'em and I admit I don't know much about this band's music. But after hearing this song I decided to keep my mind closed to any Smashing Pumpkins music. Don't tell me I need to give them a chance. Billy Corgan-donor's voice makes the sound of fingernails on a chalkboard sound like Mozart to my ears:

I remember a d.j. talking about Billy Corgan's voice...........she said it sounds like he's "tattling" on someone.

After seeing Slipknot live a few years back when they supported Metallica, I can agree to that. I do dig MM though he was great live, well worth a look-see 😛

LOL...I hear ya, Blues! Many of the bands I love are named in this thread...and not just once, but in droves! My current favorite band has not been listed yet (30 Seconds to Mars), but I'm sure now that I've mentioned them they'll be appearing on everyone's list! 😛

Oh well....if liking popular mainstream music makes me a bad person, then just call me the devil. 😉

Hmm, here are a few that suck over the years-
J-Lo, Fine Young Cannabals, Aerosmith [after the 70's], Whoever did the macarena, Limp Biskit, ICP, Celine Dion, K-fed, KC and the sunshine band, and whoever does that "Kryptonite" song.
We can't call Linkin Park a band, that would be like calling Prince a bodybuilder. Both are just a joke [the "bands", not my statements].

But aside that, the biggest truth here =

Well it is true that no band sucks worse, it would have been understandable if the mods had locked this and said "Since no other band sucks more, there is nothing more to add"

But let us explore why they suck - Their songs are so kiss-ass it is nauseating! They are worse than Micheal Bolton!
Some folks have had the gall to compare them to Pearl Jam. Pearl Jam were some lame ass boneheads after the 10 album, but NO where near as bad as creed. Creed could not carry Pearl Jam's jockstraps.

Bob Dylan..... Great musician, great song-writer, and a few of his songs i actually LOVE, (basically the whole "Blood on the Tracks" record) uh-oh I said record, but for the most part he sucks! Can't sing to save his ass
"I ain't gonna WORK on Maggie's FARM no MORE...." If he would have stuck to writing and playing instruments and let someone with some vocal talent handle the singing, he might still have a viable carreer and be relevant.

Now I'm not bashing folk-rockers, it's one of my fav. genres, or singer-songwriters, but how in the hell did Bruce Springsteen pen and perform so many songs that did okay or were unnoticed and then let someone else cover them and have a hit?? Don't get me wrong, I like the Boss. A lot. He did however, have a lot of crap-filling between the good songs. But when The Band redid "Atlantic City" it was a popular hit and a damn fine rendition. And when Manfredd Mann redid "Blinded By the Light" it was a huge hit for them, although I personally detest the song thanks to listening to repetitive FM radio for years.
Do I hate either? Absolutely not. So did I just waste 2 minutes of your time and space on this thread? Probably. Just call it sounding off.

In other news, I heard a song today in my work truck that I haven't heard in years by a great artist who is really under-rated.... It was Jackson Browne's "Here Come Those Tears Again," and if you don't know it don't let the title confuse you because it's not exactly what you would think. Great song and possibly one of my favorites

Name of the group was Living Colour. From back in 1989 or 1990. An all-Black Heavy Metal group. Quite the novelty at that time.

First time I ever heard Linkin Park, I burst out laughing. I thought they were a younger type of Weird Al Yankovic thing.

It's all a matter of personal taste which this diverse group of people will never agree on.

The type of music that my fellow posters like doesn't matter to me. I've seen both bands I love and dislike here.

I guess it's just an FYI for those who care.

With all due respect, which is a lot in your case 🙂 , I don't think that the point is for all of us to agree on sucky-ass bands. I love music threads and I think it's great fun to read different peoples' opinions, whether I agree or disagree. The diversity of opinions is what makes these threads (and this forum) so great.

Oh! What Blasphemy! 😱 But alas, although he is one of my musical heroes, the Mofo canNOT sing!! Which is why I can sing his songs in karaoke or wherever so well.

This is all a matter of opinion. I would have to say all those fringe 80's metal bands like: Winger, Warrant, SKid Row, and some I cannot even remember. Although they do not fit in this group I would also have to name Iron Madien and Judas Priest.
