She had to postpone that surgery because she developed really severe pneumonia and needed emergency surgery for that instead, but she's finally recovered and she's going in for the original surgery next Thursday, and there's a good chance that it will end her chronic pain. She's having an electrical stimulator implanted in her back that is supposed to block the pain signals entirely, replacing them with a kind of "sleeping limb" tingle.

They're all very accepting of it. They know about the TMF, but I don't think they quite understand what it is. Although my mother asked me to show it to her the next time I'm over there.
