Imagine if you were there for the clinching game? I don't think we'll see a sweep though. That Ohtani injury looked borderline scary.
 
Well it's possible. I think the Yankees look outmatched a bit. And I hate to see Judge struggle this much because it's getting him a bad reputation in the playoffs.
 
Should be a good pitching matchup. I like Volpe cause he grew up in NY. They showed a picture of him when he was 8 years old the last time the Yankees were in the World Series (at the game) and now 15 years later he hits a grand slam for the Yankees at the World Series. Pretty crazy.
 
Congrats Mils on the Dodgers win! It was a crazy Game 5. This is the first time I missed baseball when it ended in a very long time.
I really got back into it this year (not because the Yankees got to the World Series). Just started following it a lot and you rubbed off on me.
 
Yeah but you got the ring Mils...you must be happy. Did you count 2020 as legit? Some people say it's not but it still counts.

Yes, I count 2020 as a legitimate World Series title. That makes 8 World Series championships that the Dodgers have.
The NL record is 9, by the St. Louis Cardinals. The Dodgers are tied for second place with 8.
 
Will the Dodgers repeat? It's so hard to get back there...but they should be good again. Of course, you can never plan for injuries either.
 
I hope that the Dodgers will repeat.
The hopes are that some starting pitchers will be back. (Ohtani as a pitcher, May, Gonsolin, Glasnow).
The dangers are loss of free agents and more injuries in 2025.
 
Injuries is one thing you can never predict which is one big reason I think it's mandatory for the Yankees to keep Soto. Judge has been injury prone and if they lose Soto and Judge ever had a significant injury next season forget the Yankees probably even making the playoffs.
 
Back when Mike Piazza was the heart of the Dodgers' offense, Lasorda said that watching Piazza in a collision play at home plate, where a runner trying to score was trying to knock him over and jar the ball loose, was like watching your new Mercedes Benz drive over a cliff.
So, it will devastate any team if their best offensive player is injured.
 
Yes indeed. Are you glad the election is over? You get a break now...I just hope the drama dies down on both sides. I'm not a fan of politics because of the way people act over this. And I think we all obsess over who is president but we don't even know our local officials and they are the ones who really affect our lives more on a daily basis. I'm included in that lack of knowledge by the way.

Yes, I'm glad the election is over. No more annoying political TV commercials, for one thing.

No, my older niece who has made Thanksgiving in Chicago for years is not doing it this year.
My younger niece, who lives in Syracuse, is making Thanksgiving this year. I will be going to Syracuse on Thanksgiving morning and returning to NYC on Saturday evening.
 
Oh wow something different this year huh? Hope everything is ok with your niece.
 
Nothing is wrong. She just told her younger sister that it was her turn to spend a week preparing for two dozen guests for a huge dinner.
 
I don't blame her lol. Sounds like a lot of work!

Trust me growing up we heard about it and saw it. Now we took over the cooking...well my sister does more of it than my brothers or I but we all pitch in which makes the job a lot easier.
 
Definitely. My grams used to cook all by herself too when we were kids and invited everyone over. It's a lot but people pitched in.
 
Since I can't cook anything that people would like to eat, when asked to bring something, I bring wine.
