For the record, the first page (the only one with any dialogue) is just about the one girl's hair having split ends and the other having much straighter hair. There's a humor about it that is hard to translate as a lot of the floating kanji just describe the very obvious, like "RUN!" "CHASE!" "WALL" and the like.

The Patchouli one by Rui just has her caught in a trap that is apparently sprung by looking through old books. I suppose that makes more sense in the context of the character.
