Heh heh! I saw that late last last year and I love it! Really peppy! The whole series is entertaining, but that bit is outstanding!

So that's a plant trellis! Yeah, I can see it now... that does make more sense!

This story is getting mighty complex! Hope Jen has access to a world-class special effects department, because I don't know how else she plans to fake universal cataclysm! Right now, she doesn't seem to know either! We'll find out soon, I suspect!

Can't help but feel a twinge of sympathy for poor Sandy. "I used to be pretty", croaking out of that awful clownish caricature… it's rather heart-breaking, and I'm glad she's finally at peace. Though the sight of her "corpse" rattling around in the bottom of the jar is distinctly disturbing. And it looks like it won't be there long, what with escape-by-spider looming in the last panel for Kelley. That hellion loose in company with lots of arachnids and broken glass… a mighty bad combination all the way 'round! Let's see how many pieces Jen ends up in next time!

Yes, Sandy is much the victim here. Her boyfriend got seduced and drained... she had the right to be angry. She did not have the right, perhaps, to do to Kelsey what she did although you may even start to make up your mind on THAT. She did so in self defence (from all we know) and anger. Just like Brenda and like Jen, she was a victim.

As for 'how many pieces Jen ends up in next time'... see for yourself. Jen, not liking spiders much at all, takes a quite brave action... but it looks like it will be one she'll soon regret?

By the way, you talked of a 'key image' a few pages ago. From tickling perspective that was it. From story-perspective, THIS page (32) has the key-image!

Jen's stomp frenzy was down-right cold blooded (yeah, I understand… no bugs were actually squished during this scene. It was all done with stunt-spiders squirting stage goo!) This serves as queasy preamble to a genuinely unnerving, nightmarish tableau in the cellar! All those web-entombed mummies… and one of them's sporting a disturbingly familiar set of red twin tails! Could we be on the verge of unwrapping a raft of old associates from a separate series?! Or (heaven forfend!) the corpses of same associates! Hoping I'm wrong… dreading I'm right…

Yes, you could put it that way. Walked straight into the spider trap...

Cold blooded, eh? 😉 I think most spiders smash, whack, beat to death spiders when they see them in their house. Jen's not really an exception to this. But then, there's a few too many now to start smashing. But... I can put you at ease. The 'twin tails' do not belong to any character you know. Not from this series and not from another. Also, I can put your dreaded guess at rest. There's not going to happen any unwrapping.

Let me review your so far effort. You brought new dynamic to both art and story, improved on both fronts, became quite an comic book artist on this site... but... There has to be a but butting in doesn't it?

You need to work on your backgrounds now. Although most of them are satisfactory I think it would help you to go a level further. Think about it.

Heheh. Indeed, it could be. I don't have any games planned at the moment. Nor do I have a desire to wrap a game around this theme currently. Who knows in the future...

Thanks for the feedback, Bashiku! Nice to hear you think my artwork has improved (I am trying my best to polish it and make things look more properly scaled and shaped than before). The story is also quite a bit more complex and there's more to tell than in the chapters before. So maybe that has helped. Beside that, this is not planned as an 8 or 10 page chapter. It's a LONG one. So I don't only have more time to tell the story and develop it within the pages, I also have more space to do so. The script is alive in such way that it's being constantly tuned and finetuned. I have the whole story in my head, largely written down to a low level of detail, and in more detail for several pages ahead at the time. I find that as time goes by and the story gets onto the paper, things that I wrote down days or even weeks ago are not always as good or accurate anymore when I get to drawing those pages. 😛 I think it helps in the story development to keep it flowing.

I know that I don't put a background in all the pictures right now (do you mean that?) or are the ones available too simple? The scene where Jen enters Kelsey's Lair has a more defined atmosphere and level of detail (although it's more spiders and cocoons than actual furnishing/wall decoration, etc). What do you mean by 'go a level further' exactly? 😉

Interesting... Actually the funny thing is that KELSEY (so not Kelley - which is the doll) is not actually evil. But the dolls are evil versions of the persons they represent, occasionally showing through a little bit of their real self if you're lucky.

Finally!
You may have seen her before in a picture or two and she has been waiting for weeks to get into the action.

May I officially introduce you to;
Miss Kelsey Pennerchop!

This rather cute looking person is far older than you may think at first (or second) sight. She has a spider web tattoo all across her torso and fangs. You have seen her 'representative' (the doll Kelley) command the spiders already and you guess it right: She has an affinity with the little creepers! She is also (as you may have guessed from the fangs) a leech. Much like a vampire (but differently) she lives by draining others. She is BACK in the game and one of Jen's new greatest nightmares.

But then again... with Jen having taken on a couple of super powers, she is a little like a super hero, isn't she... and each super hero needs a counter.

Then you're not missing anything yet. Fw-EEK-Hee has not yet revealed how the apocalypse will be exactly countered, what Jen has to do and how they are going to stage it. It is the second part of this chapter (which is about to start, really!) If you wait a few more pages, you will start to see in which direction the future is going to go.

Yes, I *could* have made this into two separate chapters (one about the dolls, then one about reversing the apocalypse) but there were several reasons to put it into a single chapter under the name 'Destiny'. For even with the reversing of the apocalypse (IF she can make it happen!) Jen's life is going to be very different afterwards.

Either way, just a few more pages and you'll find out what Jen will have to do and how Fw-EEK-Hee is planning to stage the Apocalypse.
