Tower of Gargalesis (Tickling RPG M/F, F/F, F/M)

Hey Dalfgan, are you still having problems with Hathor?

I do believe her breasts were her weak point. It's going to be a battle of attrition, so make sure you stockpile on juices. Furthermore, I highly recommend you fight her with Spaz the Giggle Goblin.
If you haven't done the quest yet, do the Goblin Raid - though be careful on your choices. You have to be nice to the leader if you want her as your faithful pet, otherwise you lose the chance forever. Spaz will make the fight a lot easier to deal with.

Boy, that was a fight! About 100 rounds and with many potions I finally beat her!
Thanks, AnimeWatcher, for telling me about the Goblin Girl... I tickled her and so she didn't join me... and without her that fight is nearly unwinnable. I deal about 30 damage per round, the cow girl about 40-100 (or I deal about 100 and she about 150 with Bravado), after a few rounds she uses her skill to be invincible for three rounds, so you have only one turn to deal damage... oh, and she heals herself for 60 hp every third round xD

Another question: Is there any possibilty to get better equip (or at least footwear 😵)? Because the shop in the start town doesn't seem to get better items than the ones he has since the beginning.

can anyone give me the new working link to download the game please? cannot find in the first page and I see there are more than 200 pages @@

Yea, and Hathor isn't even the toughest boss you'll face :stickout good job on outlasting her though. She is one tough cookie to do solo. Don't worry too much about missing Spaz; Deus said that the next update will include another pet you can obtain. Of course, if you screw THAT one up you're not getting another one lol.

No, shops do not currently contain any footwear. You'll be walking barefoot until Deus adds other equipment in. You'll have access to new equips every 3 or 4 levels I believe. Of course, before then, your enemies will be hitting you hella hard because of overleveling/underleveled equipment.

Here you go. Give thanks to Dan Zhang for reuploading the latest.

Hey ive been wondering... Where is the stairs to the third floor? Ive been looking all over for them and i havent found them yet... Can someone please help? 🙂 also. Can someone tell me how to get to them? Thers a quite a few blocked doors. So how would i go about unlocking them o.o?

Regrettably, the second floor is as far as you'll get until Deus starts back up on ToG. Our current version only has you getting to the 'end' of the second floor, and none of the doors will open for you (they require a key that hasn't been implemented).

I believe the game doesn't have the third floor part yet, you're gonna have to wait for the next update but lot's of stuff happened and it's been postponed for quite a while now.

COMPLETELY RANDOM
After about 6 or so months... I finally did it....
I BEAT PARANOIA!!!
God, did that feel good. What a long effin fight.

Sigh.
What now....

honey bee says i need 4 talismans and in the questlog stand 0/4 challenges

What class and what game version are you using? 😛issed I need to know - like - YESTERDAY! I've got the latest, but she is broken and unbeatable (my poor Mage). Tell me your secrets!

Oh jeez, Kami. I'm sorry I missed this. You probably already found the answer by now, but the challenges should be started in the far left part of the forest where you originally fought Alraune. Just walk up to the pillar and you can begin them.

Ack sorry to get your hopes up. This version was two years old apparently. I used a hunter. However currently I'm trying the newest version. I just hope i remember how to get back to her. You have to do it before you enter the tower right? Seriously.... we all need to get together and make a walkthru or strat guide. WHY ISNT THERE ONE ON GAMEFAQS?!?! :stickout

Does anyone know where a latest copy can be downloaded from? The link in the OP just leads to Megaupload's 'Seized Domain' pic.

I notice someone is talking about the 4 challenges...just in case you want to know how to complete each task...here's the link for it. For I'm sure AnimeWatch and I talked about it somewhat. XD Tips

It's been so long I need a reminder. To get to paranoia and the other one...
damn what was the other chicks name... but you know who I'm talking about.
Do I have to be in DwtD mode? Probably. I hope not. I'm lazy. I don't wanna have to try.
Write back soon.
-Love me

Go to page 274 of this thread. Top post has the re-uploaded link.

Oh yea! We did talk about this XD Man, look at how thin I was back then. :lol

I loooooooathe you for getting my hopes up. Loooooooooooathe... -sigh- I can't beat her until Deus fixes her in a new patch, since there's data from the current patch that wasn't available in previous ones.

Anyways, if I recall, only Calypso requires DwtD mode and Paranoia is available for everyone.

I don't think Paranoia was for everyone o.o I played through non-DwtD mode several times and never even got a hint of her name in the gameplay. I could of course be completely blind, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it 😛

XD I wouldn't call it thin, more like a simple info. 🙂

For some reason...I feel I need to start over with the same class, just in case the update comes. ^_^

And keep the old one to simple play around with the bee. Beside...I had fun facing her.

Okay, if this has been said already then sorry for asking, I'm a bit hesitent to read through the comments because of spoilers, but are the enemies supposed to level up with me? Because I'm at level 11 and trying to beat our little bee friend, yet I'm killed in two hits constantly....No matter how much I level up, they just follow suite, and the game already told me I'm just at average ticklish level, and now I can't even heal myself because nothing I use heals more than the damage they deal.

Ooo ooo - let ME tell you the news.

...You're level 11, and just now facing Honey Bee? My, you've certainly been busy haven't you? AND she is two shotting you? With the latest armor? I hate to say this - but congratulations Yumes, your game is no longer possible to beat. :stickout (ok, there might be a really slim chance, like super slim, but no enemy should EVER be two-shotting you unless it's Paranoia; and only when she is in "Guaranteed Gameover" mode)

Enemies do level up with you. The level 1 Tickle Faeries will leave huge dents in your armor when you face them again at level 6+. Enemies scale, and though you'll kill them in slightly fewer turns, earlier game enemies will still hurt bad. Leveling up is almost bad in this game - you do want to level a little bit, but only by a level or two before certain parts of the game. If you over level, the difficulty spikes up and you could (as you're seeing here) screw up any future progress you could make in the game if you get too high.

I'm sorry Yumes. But I don't think even the White Feather cheat item could save you now, since it'd only help you kill things faster, not prevent things from killing you fast. The only items I could think to help you would be to get the VERY BEST juices you can get right now (make sure you grind the pub game like a madman if those are the best). Also, use some strategy...yknow...like Spaz. Expect some boss fights to last a LONG time, you can't just smack them with your sword and win in ToG as they will rape you.

Well that's.....depressing.

I always have a habit of level farming for a little bit when I play RPGs, always trying to stay a head of the enemies and such a bit. I mean it's a good game and such but shouldn't leveling up make me stronger?

But I guess I'll just reset the game then I suppose, kinda kills the mood to play but hopefuly once I get back to my location it will pick up again.

Not to be harsh, but I have little sympathy for the people who overlevel in ToG. Deus and others have announced repeatedly over these many pages that there is an optimal level for each chapter, and not to go beyond it. The healing items are in set units, not a percentage. The enemies don't need equipment or items: they level their stats correspondingly in a way the player cannot. Grinding is not the answer in this game. Caution and an abundance of potions is.

This is especially true given the 99 save states and the explicit advice at the beginning to use them. You should go back to a save state at lvl X. If you don't have a save state for every level you've been at, you're doing it wrong.

I know it's off topic, but that Double D picture threw me into hysterics. XD

A few thoughts on this:

  • The game's character advancement and enemy scaling system are counter-intuitive. They punish typical RPG behavior, even though the game is an RPG.
  • Dependency on external documentation is a design failure.
  • The information isn't in the first post. Having to scour a thread, as homework, to make sense of a game is not fun.
  • Gotchas suck, even beyond game design. "It's documented" is not an excuse. Listing the trade-offs underlying a design decision, however...

Yeah, as much as I've enjoyed the game and understand that grinding can break any form of challenge, I question if making us fearful of leveling up is really the answer.
