Tower of Gargalesis (Tickling RPG M/F, F/F, F/M)

How about an item that will transport you to different towns, like the Gnomish Teleportation Devices in The Cackling Cave?
Or a whistle-type thing that will attract monsters? Some RPGs have that; I know Dragon Quest does.
What about items that are only hurtful to your quest? The infamous ruby from the old NES game Uninvited comes to mind, where your mind slowly became possessed as you carried the ruby until you died.
Tents, if you don't already have them?
Maybe a monster-repelling item in case you wanted to get through areas without being hindered by monsters?
Summoning items, so you can summon creatures or characters to assist you for the battle?...Though I can't see how these could be useful consumables.

On a side note, I seem to be having a lot more free time lately, so if it is needed, I can provide a lot more tickle scenes.

Monster-repelling item would be a good one. I don't know how useful a teleport item would be as the world itself is fairly small, that said I don't know how big some of the zones (areas/maps) are gonna be and how hard it might be to hike out of them.

Lots of different, consumable, attack items might make more in-depth strategies. Same with temporary stat boosting items. The latter might be kinda tricky though, I mean, easy to break the difficulty.

i just wana know, is there going to be a party? you've probably already stated this a million times over but still, the game is completly set up to make it so there can be a party and i am woundering if your going to utilize that or not.

well im downloading the beta now, hopefully i dont have any problems with it (have been haveing problems with another downloaded game but im sure its just with that one) cant wait to see the new things...

you know the only reason i pick the mage over everyone else is because he/she's got ticklish feet <,< random comment ftw?

also is that pub games in this one? if so when can i get it? XD

On the missing sailor mission, you can complete the mission for as many times as you like.

Even if you save the fairy girl from the tickling powder, the quest remains incomplete.

If possible, when conversing with the Honey Bee, the menu no disappear after one line of questioning? To access the 4 talk options, you need to do one and start the entire conversation all over again.

I managed to finish all the 4 new quests but i found the mssing sailor one a bit tough since the directions to the location were a bit sketchy... just my thought on it.

I really did like the fact you cleaned up alot of stuff, esp. the attack setup. I saw a bit of the karma system and i also enjoyed that.

It seems more difficult, at least playing with a mage. I really like that.
The menus for tickle spots and tkl magic look totally awesome now!

I loved the Dryad's combination attack, and the newly added attacks for various Mamono too. I can confirm the fairy quest thing, she'll heal you and all it just doesn't show in the log. Oh well.

First time I saw the scene with the log, great work on that. 🙂 Though I think it's been ingame for a while.

All in all it's another great beta, and one can definetly see the work you put it in, everything's much more refined now!

I've found that the problem with the Tickle Fairy quest only happens if you have a Fruit of Knismesis in your inventory before you start it. If you accept the quest then find a fruit and return it to the fairy the quest is marked as complete.

Also after defeating the Chuckle Oni in the 'Mother Where Art Thou?' your character starts moving faster (outside of buildings). Is this deliberate?

Other than that, excellent work. I'm loving the new tougher monsters 🙂

You do remember he said that the mage would be the second most difficult character to play with right? Maybe that's why it's hard, because everyone is playing as the damn mage! :stickout

Anyway, question. You have an estimated time on when the next beta is going to come out? And is it only going to feature two extra sidequests?

Yes, I remember. 🙂 My main reason for picking one this time around was to see the new menus, I personally like soldier the best, probably because it's the first class I played, too. But anyway, it should be harder for any class, for example the Chuckle Oni's Rage attack is quite mean. T.T

You do remember that he just gave us a new beta ~12 hours ago?! :stickout

It will actually feature 3, one of which is already complete but is inaccessable until you complete Fairy, Goblin, Shroom, Bunny, Bar, and Farm quests.

The Farm quest unlocks a new friendly Mamono, and the Bar quest opens up a whole new world of potential tickle scenes (as described in an early post).

Also, I think some of you will hate me for the "Where's the Cuckoo Egg?" quest, just because I think some of you are sadistic enough to let the fairy fade away 😛

I'll check the Sailor quest...I could have sworn it was fine. And I swear to God I can't figure out what's wrong with the Fairy quest. I've done everything imagineable, everything points to it working just fine, so I don't know.

I just tested this again, and he's right, if you don't get a fruit beforehand it works. So as a workaround, if that's possible make the fruits drop as a quest item rather than a normal one? Or something... I could've sworn it worked just fine in the last beta...

Not that it matters much, it's such a minor error that I wouldn't mind even if it stays ingame.

Edit: On that note, what's their use anyway, beside for the two quests? You can use them in battle, but you'll be unaffected. You can't use them from the menu.

Also! What's up with Honey Bee! I got to her at level 3...no chance, okay, I figured that. I trained to level 4 and even with the 2 orange juice and energy drinks she's still owning me!(as a mage, mind you) I think you can beat her at level 4, but it's hard...I've done about 5 tries now, and always lost, barely sometimes, but I did...Now off I go to get level 5, then she'll get what she deserves. >.> /Random comment@difficulty (lovin' it!)

Edit at a later time: I was too lazy to get to level 5 and instead used all my Orange Juice (2), 10 tomato juice (with 2 shots each) and 2 energy drinks to finally beat her. I was healing for 30 each turn and she'd hit me for 20-36 depending on her attack. Still took me like 10 tries thanks to her criting and the fact that she's able to hit you two times in a round if you're unlucky. She attacks, you attack and get her hp low enough -> stinger attack before the next round starts. All in all a good 60 HP gone. Hrmph.

On another Note, and yes I do realize this post is getting quite long: I love to be able to actually talk to her on the east side of the woods now, nice little conversation, and I loved how her behaviour changed after asking about her.

Last Edit:
I've also noticed one thing that might require fixing, and that is the quest list. If you scroll down (too many quests for one page) then it'll change which one you have selected, but the actual list doesn't move at all, so you can't read the quest titles. You can still view info about the quest on the right side, so it's not a huge issue. Wow that was hard to explain, being no native english speaker sucks sometimes.

I managed to beat Honey Bee at level 3 as a Mage. It actually took fewer Tomato Juices than Lady Venus <_< Who was significantly nerfed before you guys got to fight her. Before, she regen'd for 5% of her maximum health which...combined with the occasional spore meant that she recovered damage faster than it could be dished out.

The Oni was also significantly nerfed. She did 30+ damage after going raeg making it near impossible to survive. She was the reason juices were given an item charge.

I'm going to tweak Bee so she doesn't spam her stinger so much.

I'm aware of the Quest Log problem and I've asked the script writer about it <_< hopefully I'll get/find a fix soon.

I'll check the fairy again, I could have sworn she was fixed...

Note: Knismesis Fruits will actually be much more valuable later. They remove ALL status changes. So that dust the fairy sprays you with? It clears that up. Get winded by a Brutal Tickle? It clears that up too. Tickle Fit? Terrified? It clears that up too. Get stuck in a Turtle Up and realize you can't hurt the enemy anymore? Gets rid of that. Last Resort end up being too suicidal? Clear that up.

Edit: Fairy quest has been fixed.

As a level 3 mage...Wow, I must suck then. I really didn't think that was even possible, I was allready using armor and the small feather (which imo works better than the harpies), and I saw no land at all. Great work, I guess. xD Out of interest, just how many potions did you use?!

Lady Venus was Okay for me at level 3, using lots of tomato juice. I have to say she sounds really mean prenerf though!

The Giggle goblin boss, I followed your advice and rerolled to let her go, it really is a great scene. 🙂

Note that I wasn't complaining about the difficulty at all, I like a challenge, and I'm sure it'd be pretty easy with a Soldier. (Regarding your comment about making her sting less frequently)

Good to hear about the Fairy Quest, and thanks for the info about the fruit!

Edit: Man, what's with me and editing posts in here. :lol One thing just popped into my mind, I can run when I use the right shift key, which is very convenient. Shift key on the left side won't work though, could you adjust that if it's not too much trouble?

[Dirty Joke]I figure most of you are playing one handed, but I actually prefer to play using both hands. xD.[/Dirty Joke]

Um...I know I needed an Orange Juice to beat Venus and Honey, I bought like 25 Tomato Juices before fighting Venus <_< and I had like 10 left at the end of Chapter 1. So that means I used about 30...

Yeah it was rough, I was also using the Harpy Feather (which is weaker than the Small Feather, but gives you an Agility boost).

Other classes should have a bit easier time, at least until you hit Chapter 2 and magical enemies start showing up. Then things are evened out quite cruelly.

Level 4, Thief, difficult level with bosses: High. It is hard even damaging Dryad, whom I did 1/10 of damage while she took down all mine Stamina...

Otherwise everything seems fine and easy going so far... No bugs that I noticed.

Did you beat the bosses with the thief? If not I'll have to tweak the thief a bit...

And to answer the previous question, if I can get inspiration to write the class specific tickling scenes, I can probably have the 3.1 beta up tonight.

Go Go Go. 🙂

I'm doing a thief playtrough right now, to see how it is. I guess I can compare with the mage playthrough quite well as it was just a few hours ago.

This is not for now and just a random thought, but maybe in the later chapters you could use something like limit breaks to give us new moves? I figure by chapter 5 or 6 it'd be nice to have some new attacks. I did a quick google search to see if that's even possible with RPG maker and I guess it is.

By the way does everyone know you can get the game to run in full screen with Alt + Return? I just had a random thought that some people less involved with computers might even play in small screen all the time! I personally prefer full screen, so I thought I'd leave that here.

Back to playing~

Quick Edit: I just found a little glitch: If you don't take the "Coins for Clothes" quest while you still have no coins it won't work anymore. This time around I did the teddy and missing child quest first, having totally forgotten about this one. I went to the guard and I can buy stuff just fine, he still has the "Quest Giver" sign above his head, but he won't hand it out.

I think I've completed all the new content (4 quests after defeating Honey Bee) as a level 4/5 Adventurer unless I've missed something (it feels like there should be one more +1 rep quest). The boss Giggle Bunny kicked the crap out of me the first couple of times I tried it, suprised me a bit 🙂 I also had trouble finding the Fairy Forest but it was rewarding when I finally stumbled across it.

With regards to the point I made about the speed of the character increasing, it only lasted till I'd fought another battle then it returned to normal.

The last rep quest is programmed, you just can't access it yet.

@ cay: Thanks for the heads up, I've got the shop quest fixed now. If you don't talk to the guard before getting coins, you miss out on getting the quest (same as if you let the Fairy fade away).

You can, in fact, make limit breaks pretty easily. I just didn't include them since I didn't see a point. Later skills have a Limit Break-esque quality. For example:

Tickle Storm requires 2 turns to "build up" before you can even select it. After that, it takes a turn to "Chant" so you can cast it. It's obscenely powerful and elementally targets every body part: meaning it will always be super-effective.

Unless other people want to come up with Limit Break skills <_< I'm tapped on player skills right now...there are 99 unique skills programmed in at the moment. If anyone else can come up with useful skills and shit, I'll add more to the general curve, but as it is I am just tapped.

Woah woah woah there! I had no clue you have more attacks planned at all, so just nevermind my earlier comment. 99 Skills is CRAZY. That ticklestorm skill sounds absolutely awesome, off to grinding a mage to level 30?! xP.

On the note of my Thief playthrough: I think I never died to a tickle fairy before, WHEN I WASN'T TRYING TO! :stickout My little thief definetly doesn't look strong so far, but I'm just getting to the interesting part. Level 3 and in front of the Dryad as I write this, I'll edit in a bit. 🙂
