Carnivore:
Thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately, I think I was doing what you suggested, and it wasn't working, which is why I gave up and just went back to grinding.
I fought Lady Venus when I was level 3, level 4, and level 5. I could never beat her.
If I were to heal when I'm at -30 max health, I would literally be healing every turn, which is what I was doing. Lady Venus does at least 30 damage each turn, if not 40 or 50. I was constantly drinking Tomato Juice just to stay afloat, and she'd eventually grind me down with those hits that were over 30 stamina. The Tomato Juices were really pretty useless since I didn't make up any ground at all, I'd just lose whatever health I had just gained. This happened at level 3, 4, and 5.
At level 5, it got easier, because I had more stamina to spare, and I now had access to the Orange Juice and a better shirt. So leveling up, at least for me, did make the game easier. I got further in my fight with Lady Venus at Level 5 than I ever did at level 3 or 4. At level 3 or 4 it wasn't even a fight, just me frantically drinking a ton of tomato juices until I lost. That's why it seems to me like grinding is the only thing that has actually worked.
And I always did a belly tickle attack on Lady Venus, which I learned is her weak point. So I was using the maximum power of attack. I never tried anything else, and it would always do a lot of damage, from 40-50 stamina points. At least...I think that's a lot of damage on Lady Venus. I know I've had much better hits on fairies and goblins using the standard tickle attack, but they're not bosses.
I just can't think of any other way to fight her better.
I really like this game but am about to throw in the towel. I don't understand why a game would be designed so that improving your character by leveling up would make the game harder. Doesn't make much sense to me.
