When you fight calypso, always save on a separate file just in case of emergency. That way if there is a problem you can start new again and build up on supplies.
I was doing this like a champ before traveling to any major quest, but I was so excited when I answered all the questions to reach the second calypso fight that I accidentally saved over my main save. That save was my only one since escaping the second floor -_-'
Does anyone have any advice for a mage on their second battle with calypso? I'm at level 7 with lvl 3 feather flames, lvl 1 ice, and lvl 1 earth for spells. 248 stamina, 61 adrenalin, 10 OJs, 17 Apple Juices, 14 energy drinks, 5 hathor's milks, and no fruit
🙁
I have 2 skill points in each of overflowing stamina and adrenalin pool, with 3 skill points to place.
I tried topping out my stamina and adrenalin, and bringing ice up to level 2 to fight her, but I was making incredibly slow progress. My regular attacks hit for around 23-28 with the reduced stats, though my flame attack was around 200 when my stats weren't drained. I played out a battle until I ran out of energy drinks (since she drains adrenalin) and eventually she started to heal herself for around 130, which she did often enough to almost nullify my regular attacks.
My question to the greater players of this fine game would be this- Is it possible to use those three skill points to win the battle? If not, I'll go back and play through again, but any advice for mages in the future would be awesome. I could drag her down the first time using physical attacks and blasting her when the opportunity arised, but now that I spend most of my time with no adrenalin and reduced stats, I feel like there's got to be some other way to push past her debuffs and healing. I found her weaknesses for physical attacks, but I could only find fire and ice amongst her current signs.
I've now learned that I don't make good choices at 4 in the morning
🙁
Edit- I just dumped the 3 points to boost proficiency to see if that could save me. The twins tome told me it would increase by 6, but in my stats it went from 20->23.
I now deal 70 damage per attack, and 40 damage with reduced stats (which is most of the time).
