Tower of Gargalesis (Tickling RPG M/F, F/F, F/M)

Just posting to say I am off from work tomorrow so I am going to make a big push in updates. Stay tuned for more info.

Currently a Level 8 mage in DwtD, with only 5 open quests (ToG, captain's challenge, mammono codex, slime, trading for coins).

Completed the initial part of the Snow Maiden quest and received the dirty paintbrush, and wondering if there are any other quests to do before going after Mammona, since it would make sense to level up to 9 before going at it (incidentally, I could also take a shot at Calypso, but I would assume it would be wiser at level 9 as well).

Also, in the battles against Mammona (yes, I've tried), I'm unsure of when to use the charity core. It seems that she will occasionally power it down with an attack, yet if I use the crystal at any point before (trial and error through many saves), it says that it hasn't collected enough greed energy and it wasn't effective. It is healing me every time the greed core wave comes through, but even after that, I'll use it and it says I need more greed power. What're tips on using it in the fight?

I'm unsure myself, as I would have that issue: I would be healed by the Greed Core Wave from Mammona, but except for the first time using the Charity Core Crystal, it really did insignificant damage, and very similar could be said of the first use. Now this was back numerous builds ago, but still. The only thing I could think of is that the Charity Core Crystal is a counter for bad karma players who would be hurt by the GCW instead of healed by it, so getting hit by the GCW wouldn't "charge" the CCC or whatever because it will replenish a good karma player's health, i.e. the system doesn't think you need the CCC as well as the healing.

Shhh, I think it makes sense, in concept at least.

I beat Mammona purely through raw power, which was easy enough a few builds ago as I was a Slayer and thoroughly wrecked the shit of everything I came across, so the CCC wasn't anywhere close to a necessity, especially when the occasional GCW meant a free full healing meant basically a free turn.

Guess Procella is the only one who can 100% explain how that works though since he made it 😛
 
For Mammona I didn't need the Charity thing at all as a mage. I didn't even need Spaz, which is why the consensus was that she needed a buff, and this buff should be coming in the next update (maybe).

After going back and trying the core crystal a few times, it's a good thing that I didn't need it because I couldn't get it to work either lol. BUT my advice is: If you can't get it to work, beat her before the update! At least her first form anyway, as the second (Shin Mam) will be coming after you take her down the first time. The only bad thing about doing this is, the fact that currently you don't get the key you need to open the door to the third floor from her. So unless Deus puts something into effect that gives you the key retroactively, you won't be able to get it if you beat her first fight before the update.

Deus mentioned he could/can put the key in retroactively, so that shouldn't be a problem.

@Deus: Sup? too LoL addicted or just burnt out/busy still? I recently remembered: Didn't you want to build a small team at some point? Anything ever came of that? I figure if you keep working on it alone it'll take quite a few years (realistically) before this game is done, hard to be so patient when something's this good. 🙂

Once I post it spaces everything out. >_> Not to mention I think going between a 17'' normal monitor and a 21'' widescreen one is killing my gaming/forum perception. 😛 Also glad you like the Teenage Mutant Dancing Turtle XD lol

EDIT: I'm going to assume for Deus that either something came up and delayed him, or hes trying to do everything at once; Mammona, buffs/nerfs, bug fixes, and the Spaz quest line thing. All of that together is going to take a while if he does it in the next update.

Double EDIT: I am also now addicted to LoL, thanks for bringing that game back to my attention Deus >_> lol. PS: I freaking LOVE Teemo :lol

Hey 😀 Ive been playing this game for a bit and i just beat belzebebe 😀 im loveing this but im in a little bit of a jam right now....there's this one quest that you get from the old man again...i got it at lvl 6 but he asks you to get him another beer then give a teddy to his neice...then a flower to the nices daughter....then drool to silver and a remedy to the admaral...who gives me a fairy tiara...but i dont know where the tickle fairy is to give it to...if anyone could help me i would greatly appriciate it thanks 😀

She is the one that gives you free healings in forest, to the far left at the crossroad.

Murderer! Well there might be a spare fairy somewhere. You can try the fairy where you found the sailor, but I don't know about anything further than that...
 
I will say it again awesome game dude!

ToG and Cackling Cave have inspired me to make my own game! However i have NO programming experiance :umm: So I was wondering, given that fact, how difficult would it be for me to turn the normal rpg maker battle system into a tickle one? I think i would be able to do everything else, as there are youtube videos and a whole forum dedicated to it.

I am just trying to find out if it is worth buying rpg maker and giving this a shot, or if my lack of experiance with this kinda thing is gonna make it impossible?

This question is open to anyone with any knowledge or experiance with rpg maker. Thanks guys! 🙂

Well with that MMORPG in effect with Deus, I am no longer interested in this game... it will just become a drag and slow updates.

I agree.... I've stopped playing this one and `Labyrinth of Laughter... since they are far from finished and take months to update..... I end up finished what gets added in a day or less

I don't understand the reasoning behind a post like this. Slow updates are better than no updates, and when you get something for free you really can't have many expectations.

I think if you're really not interested in it anymore you should've just backed off quietly, a post like this is just unnecessary and might be hurtful to Deus who's given us alot and asking nothing in return. Then again I think the whole "I'm not interested in this anymore because the updates are slow!" is kind of silly in itself...why not just take it easy, enjoy the update if there is one and go on with your life if there's none.

League of Legends is more like an RTS (e.g., Starcraft, Dawn of War) than an MMO. It's in the DotA (Defense of the Ancients) family, along with games like Heroes of Newerth, Monday Night Combat, and (soon) DotA 2. They don't require crazy grinding or raid schedules. You just drop into them and play a couple games at your leisure.

There were really long intervals between releases, even before Deus mentioned how he's unwinding, so I don't see it having direct bearing on the update schedule.

Also, if you really want new content when Deus isn't around to churn it out, try finding people to help translate Labyrinth of Laughter or the Foxgirl RPG.

I'm still going to wait and see about the tower game. I still believe in it and if needed I can help with stuff for dialogue

You are correct cay, I am sorry if I hurt Deus's feeling by that post, but I am just overly concerned. This project is a great thing for community, one of first of its kind. With illohnoh aside, Deus was first RPG tickle maker on this site and his vision is a great one.

What I am afraid and why I posted that post, was that Deus turned to MMO'RTS' (although I don't know what RTS uses only one character), because he lots his steam and we can't help him. Hell I would've been glad to help, once more if I remember correctly. I can think of at least dozen people in this thread alone who would do the grunt work just to help this project, but if there is no chance to help it... well its like a beautiful flower going unattended. It will wither away.

I was overly dramatic no? 😛
