Ooh, ouch. But, since its at a workplace, it might narrow the suspect list by a small margin.
I'll have to play through the older installments to get a feel for how much changed, truly appreciate the things 3 changed and/or added. I was interested in Tides of Destiny, but the island idea kind of turned me off to it all. The relationship and farming decline are steering me from it even more.
I know that Freedom Unite sapped 300+ hours from my life, grinding for materials becomes bearable when the thing you get them from is VERY attached to those pieces... The newest Harvest Moon is very slow to pick up, but I'm having a blast with it so far. The marriage candidates are a bit bland, but the ability to fully customize your farm is a godsend.
Awakening is honestly pretty darn fun. The supports are hilarious and having your own character on the battlefield calling all the shots and kicking all the ass is sssoooooo satisfying. Story is hit or miss, but it works well enough.

Good to hear that a lot's going into the writing.
The tickle scenes are a big part of the payoff for the games, so I'd say to give them the most love.
Looking forward to it.

Hello everyone. I know it's been a while since I talked of ANYTHING concerning this game, and I think it's time I come clean.
The screenshots you've seen in this thread are mostly all I've done on it. The more I tried to get into game making, the less thrilled I became. Maybe it was my own fault, promising so much with very little experience.
I tried to draw, and I had a little fun with that. Everyone seemed to really like the characters I was making and the mystery surrounding them all.
It was enjoyable trying to make a map or too as well, but the events were just hard to do (or maybe I tried to make them do too much).
But there comes a time when you just can't hide any more, and I'm not going to go out with a whisper. I want everyone to know so they don't hold on to hope that I'm still working on it like ToG.
Real life can really screw with these projects, and mine occupied me a lot to where I just lost interest with the game after so long. I tried, I really did, but in the end I just can't do it.
So I want everyone to know that the project The Laughing Isles is...for lack of a better word...cancelled. There will not be a release of the game.
I'm sorry to all those who were actually eager to try out my game. I guess it was just a case of "bit off more than you can chew" which led to burnout. 🙁 Maybe game making just isn't for me.
Thanks to everyone who participated in the Ask Bezzy thing I did. I really did have a good time with all of that, and I'm happy you all liked her design too.
I really apologize for all of this.

Yea, sadly I was not prepared for April 1st. The fun part is this still works even after April Fools 😀 All it takes it people showing curiosity over what you're up to. You just gotta know how to type it out and, yknow, make sure people with big screens can't read your "EYE KEED EYE KEED" portion lol.
If I had waited a day, I worried about the repercussions. I didn't want a War of the Worlds thing to happen and people to actually get PISSED at me and I think this might be one of those jokes that are borderline..
I'm actually quite shocked at everyone suddenly posting. I was just talking with Shadowcurse the other day on how I felt like I'd missed my opportunity, and how I doubted anyone was really interested about the game anymore since I've taken so long to release any material. Then all these posts started popping up for updates and I nearly fell out of my chair in surprise.

Naw, I don't think anyone would've been pissed at you, and if they would've been they were gonna be wrong about it. You were pretty much "coming clean" and letting people know not to get their hopes up like on ToG. At least you were telling us, unlike Deus. Can't really speak for others, but for me it would've been a "damn the luck" situation, but I would've said "it is what it is" and gotten over it.
However, you are some kind of maniacal madman pulling that one. Even Bandito hasn't pulled something that crazy. You suck for doing it and rock for doing it so well, all at the same time. 😛unk:

I might have something that could help you out. Maybe. One guy did post a whole bunch of still-image battlers for other RPG creators to use, and it does have a few females in it. Might help.
Me? Diabolical? Psh. Nah. Haha. Pff. Naaaah. 😀 You'll have to wait for any of that. Dunno if I'll give any teasers since I feel the demo might be "short". I'm going to try some playtests once I've finalized everything just to see how it all goes (and maybe balance classes/enemies a little more, though I'm really using you all for that lol). I'm hoping it'll at LEAST be 30 minutes, though I'm sure some will beat it in...like...5...somehow.
Even if I did have to go on hiatus for some reason, I'd still let everyone know and I'd still plan to finish the game. I do admit I'm bored out of my skull working mostly on JUST the stuff for the demo. Even if the rest of the game is going to be a lot harder to code/write, I can't wait. I've got so many more ideas I can utilize in the areas OUTSIDE the demo. Soooo much.
But thank you none the less for your praise on my shneakiness :lol I can't let you guys get comfy, after all. Gotta keep you focused! So long as everyone still wants to play my game, that's all I can ask for. I mean, I could ask that they LIKE my game and the characters, but one thing at a time.
