Mages in all are pretty balanced. They are however... VERY slow. Might need a just a slight speed buff. The auto attacks are not that imba on the mages because their auto attack output is not that high to begin with. Crits as a lvl 10 are around 65-75. So not nearly as insane as rogues.
Lemme know the next time you see an athletic mage
😛 Mages are slow, just like heavy armored classes. Your power comes from you blowing shit to smithereens. Or, in some weird cases, melee'ing them down lol. I might consider an ever so slight speed increase, but you will not be a fast character ever (unless maybe you put on a lot of speed equipment).
Aw crap.....
Vi wasn't exactly hard, per se, but she sure as hell wasn't a snail girl either. Having a rouge, I may not be able to beat her now since the rouge has had her stats so nerfed.
Well, at least I have a save right before talking with Worynn, so I can go out and grind some more levels if need be. Heh, only reason I have a save there is cause one of the gaurds mentions finger tickling the player character's bellybutton. Lol, I am so addicted....
Poor Vi was supposed to be this super hard fight, but it seems everyone poopoos on her :lol Maybe you should count this as a blessing that my super secret bosses won't be god-tier unstoppable. I'm glad to hear your love over certain scenes. Makes me happy.
Thanks of the tip on the chest of wonders AW, I had missed it. It makes my, uhm, experiments much faster and, uh, efficient. 😉
Now, my small contributions to the polishing of the game (played on version 7b):
THE PLOT (warning, spoilers ahead)
I beated Vi.
And I loved her. Soundtrack, appearance, voice acting (lol), reality-warping powers... the difficulty was high, but still doable for a lvl 7 warrior with some high potions and plenty of 50hp potions, so I won't complain there. The blue screen of death was fun too, altough I have to say that I always hate anything that stands between me, a very naughty ticklish girl and... well, karma. It would have been perfect if I got that screen AFTER, if you get what I mean. But alas, it wasn't meant to be.
Is this officially the end of the demo?
(end of spoilers)
BALANCE - WARRIOR STATS
Warriors are very slow, and could use a small buff on that stat. Nothing else to say on stat progression however; to me, it seems pretty much the "average" non-magic profession that was intended to be, and it should remain that way.
BALANCE - WARRIOR SKILLS
I don't know if it's intentional or not, but for the warrior it seems that the basic "tickle" attack is really the only crucial skill to use in order to beat monsters.
As you progress in levels, no targeted tickling is ever truly necessary; often tickling something specifically becomes a way to intentionally lower your DPS.
Gang tickling is underpowered too, altough I can imagine it becoming somewhat useful against BIG clusters of enemies (like 5 at a time). As it is now, I think it would be undesirable in any other combat situation.
The only useful damage skill I have obtained in the special menu as of level 7 is the Extreme Poke (I love this name), which occasionally helps in boss fights; however I would suggest a small buff to this one as well, given the pretty high cost.
CENTAUR RAID
A question: in my experience, any attempt to pursue the kidnapped husband (or talking, or even just being close to him during the escape) ended up freezing the game as soon as the centaur got close to the exit of the village. Is there a way to rescue him, or the wife is the only possibile choice?
Vi is the Demo Exclusive event, keeping people from seeing the rest of the game by ultimately "corrupting" the game file. :lol She is indeed the last event of the demo. I'm really glad you enjoyed the dialogue and the music. I personally loved the music, when I heard it I knew that it had to be her's.
Warriors may potentially get a speed buff, but are going to be slow characters. They can wear heavier, more defensive armors and it's going to weigh them down a lot. The same is true for Paladins. Think I just thought of something clever to do with that though that will allow for different builds. Fast Warriors but weaker defense vs Tanks that are slow but can take a pounding. Hmmm...
Warriors are the second best tank in the game, while having (as you mentioned) average stats all around. You will be a huge help when you start getting allies. Particularly the damage dealers whom are squishy and will want you taking the hits for them. Unlike a Paladin, whom is the best tank, you can hurt things. But also unlike a Paladin, you don't have the best tanking tools OR the ability to heal your allies.
Anyways, expect the Demo version to be more about you feeling pretty strong or equal to the monsters running around. Later on, you're going to have to look at exposing weaknesses. I'll look into buffing Gang Tickling though, but Extreme Poke got some nice buffs in the latest patches.
There is indeed a way to rescue him, though I'll have to look at this freeze that keeps happening. There are actually 2 ways to rescue, and unless something is broken, if you do an earlier quest, you can see the second way. It's odd because NO ONE seems to have mentioned it. Did anyone check the waiting room where the book was...before you slept? Hint hint.
Hmm.. Iiiiinteresting... So. With the nerfs on rogues, Using anything other than your dual auto attack is pathetic. Your targetable skills could probably not win against anything. Take one atk down from Vi and your targetable skills are down to roughly 3 dmg. Did the tickripple: Feet and did 40 dmg, followed by a tickle feet.. did 17 dmg.. While doing auto attack spams deal roughly 30-37 x2 with a chance of doing around 100dmg crits.
So sadly the nerfs broke everything except the op tactic. Might wanna try switching the target skills to fixed dmg that scales with lvls. I'm not sure tho. Don't have that much exp with rpg maker and the options it gives you 😛
Dual Wield is specific to Rogues, as such...why wouldn't they fully utilize it? It's meant to give them significant power. And right now, you're dealing with Demo weapons. Whose to say you might not find a nice dagger that adds a little more oomph in the future...or perhaps defense?
I'll look into it some more, but Vi IS supposed to be a hard battle. Like hard hard. Still, not impossible, just hard hard. Will look into her abilities and might change how often she uses things.
Run up to the left and circle around the centaur to get to her in time. If you try to run any other way you won't make it. And I dunno why the game freezes up if you don't make it. A slight bug I guess? 😛
Again, I have 0 idea why this is happening o.o But I'll look into it and fix it for my next update.
Also tried out the mage again after nerfs.. I struggled with freaking centaurs.. Or well.. not so much Nadya as the captain. ^^
Even as a lvl 10 I had almost no magic dmg output. And the melee being so nerfed that it did 4-7 dmg. (As a mage not being able to melee is just fine tho 😛)
But when you have to chug pots against vs normal enemies, it can get pretty slow. Not so much Nadya chugging it as the captain.. She is getting wrecked by centaurs. ^^
And for some reason.. The centaurs only focus her. xD
But I am not sure if I'm overthinking things. I just assumed a lvl 10 mage with phial would be able to kill centaurs faster. 3-4 spells per centaur seems a little much.
Good, a mage should never be doing godlike physical attack XD You'd make Rogues cry (which is hilarious considering how broken they were). But I'll double check and see about their magic output.
Poor Worynn! I buffed the centaurs and she paid for it lol. But of course they'd be hitting on her. She is a Warrior, and as such she generates more threat than you do naturally. So they should be focusing more on her.
🙂 I did reduce the centaurs a little this patch, so it should be 2-3 spells (AND however many of Worynn's attacks. Cmon now, don't discredit her actions). Don't expect enemies to drop over dead after a few turns in the future though. Your solo joyride isn't going to continue forever
😛
