I'd have to stand, hobble over my bookpiles, rummage through them in near darkness, and I'm feeling rejected.

...

Toss me a cookie or something, if you want me to help you "widdat". 😛

World war one, big fighting, yah dee yah. Some aliens turn up, a race of lizard people basically. They are a slow developing race that has been around for a long time, and visited before when we were all but swords and shields. They invade and are suprised by the effective resistance put up by earth.
Basic effect is, there is a stalemate, the world war continues with the aliens becoming just another group caught up in the conflict...

Not too unlikely. Especially after playing Silent Storm...

...

Ah, by the way, a tidbit for you: David L. Robbins.

Its a nice offer Kal, but I'm really not giving out any addresses on here 😛 . I'll happily go and buy it though ^^ .

Looks like he's got some interesting books. will have to look out for him next time I'm over at the book shop...

I wasn't thinking of your address, actually.
And I looked it up anyway, cause I feel like being friendly.

It's not like I find too many people who share my interests so closely.

OSP-C9 - Agincourt 1415 : Triumph Against the Odds - Matthew Bennet.

Mind you: my copy had a different cover, but *should* be the same book, inside.
Just check for the quarterly pics.
If it's got illustrated panels, bingo.

...

Else... oh well. 😀

Sounds like an interesting book! I don't know so much about agincourt really.

Yep. Loved that Zaicev guy.
Plus, Russians play the good guys there.
It's nice, once in a while.

😀

Nice description. Definitely sounds like it's worth checking out. To be honest, I've been looking for some good book recommendations anyway, so these threads are very enlightening 😀

hehe 😛 . Wow, still amazed you've read the Viddesos cycle, I really wanna get hold of them again, such a great set of books! Roman armies and magic, all in one book! And a big celtic hero, just in case ^^ . What more could you ask for to be honest 😛 .

Well... it would add nicely to the infos you might have about Hastings, 1066.
I see it as a kind of... belated revenge.

I need to read up more on my British history.
By the way, something I was thinking about for quite a while. Any Americans here, what do you learn in history in schools?

Primarily about American history, usually the American Revolution, then the Louisiana Purchase, the Spanish American War, the Civil War, the World Wars, and after talking about the wars, I've found it tends to focus on the state we live in. With me, it'd be Washington. We do cover other nations' history, but then it's pretty much Asia and Africa. They don't teach us as much about the UK or Italy or anything. At least, my school didn't.

So basically, its starts about 1775. I assume you go into greater detail, cause our history lessons go back a lot further than that.

Told you so.
And Aygomenia was moulded on a similar cast.

...

Happy?

Hey, I like the whole setting. I only complained over there cause I'm not a combat character at all, so I'm leaving these fightly bits up to someone else.

Actually, sometimes we go back to when the first colonists landed on the eastern shores. One thing I've heard about our education system, and I'm forced to agree, is that it tends to be pretty Ameri-centric. It only really gives the US side of things. As a result, in wars and stuff, our opponents, like England in the Revolutionary War, aren't painted in a very good light, which I disagree with. I think both viewpoints should have been shown.

I TOLD YOU NOT TO CREATE A SLAVE CHAR!

...

Besides you have yet to flesh her out, so no "fear".
You can still get the best out of her, even without melee specialisation.

I'd love to see the American history teachers views on the whole World war thing, such as the Lusitania and the isolationism policy. Lol ok, I'm sounding really serious now! So I'll eat this cheese ^^ .

Actually, as I recall, those didn't get too much coverage, or that the isolationism, by which you mean the segregating of Asian-Americans I'm guessing, was a necessary evil, quote unquote. On the one hand, they're not proud of it, but on the other, they say we had to do it. Of course, I could say things haven't changed a whole lot in the last fifty years, but that would be leading this thread into politics, which I'd rather shy away from.
