Tower of Gargalesis (Tickling RPG M/F, F/F, F/M)

i have a question, that' s probably been answered somewhere in this thread, but considering it's 280+ pages, i hope you won't blame me for not going through them all. i'm playing The_Tower_of_Gargalesis__11-07-14_Chapter_3_Revamp_ version of the game. i've just beaten mammona, but i have not received the key for the 3rd floor. is this the end, or is there a way to unlock additional chapters?

The latter, unfortunately. Don't expect to see an update for ToG, well, ever ):

So ToG is officially a dead game???:cry Not that I would be surprised it was to ambicious from the beginning and to good to be true. But it is a pity I loved the game.

That's the end. Deus was planning an update with a second Mammona fight and a Spaz quest line, but he never finished it. Given how long its been I wouldn't expect him to work on it again, unless he suddenly regains the interest he had in it sometime in the future.

Yup i have given up hope he wants to continue this. Sad really but can't blame him. He just made it to good and enjoyable early and probably took alot of work.

So I've been replaying this over the last few days, and even tho Deus probably won't read it...man it's still the best game around by far. Mind-boggling how much work went into it. Don't get me wrong, I love all the games that our generous game designers let us enjoy, but ToG is just on another level.

Probably less effort than a completed game. It's just misleading is all. Hypothetically, someone could spend an entire year making a single town for an RPG. It would, I assume, be the most amazing town ever. Then everyone would say, "Oh my gosh, look at this one town! This is the most amazing game! I know it's not done, but could you imagine if it was?" That's because they're deceived into giving an additional benefit to the creator by mentally filling in the blanks. If you're comparing ToG to another game, you'd have to, at the moment, weigh how much time and effort he would need to resume and finish the game, and also imagine that added to the other, presumably completed game.

Until the game is finished, that's the only way to make a fair comparison, unless you want to encourage people to bite off more than they can chew and get burnt out.

I definetly get what you're saying but when I said how much work went into it I was specifically talking about the 2 (or 3?) chapters we've gotten.

Even in its unfinished state, ToG has around 70ish maps. A LENGTHY game over scene for every single one of the ~50-60 enemies, some of those being gender or class specific. Tons of additional writing outside of game overs, some class specific too. Multiple romance options with alot more to them than just the tickling.

Aside from the writing I feel ToG has some of the best quests still, and the world feels very much alive to me cause everyone's got something to say even if they're not giving you a quest. That's something I really liked about your game as well. 🙂

Having said all that, your game is probably the only one that's even more massive than ToG in its current state. I enjoyed it immensely, even tho I'm usually not that big on foot tickling so that says something. 🙂 Definetly easy to tell that you put a huge amount of work into it as well, great writing too. If I wasn't a little biased because ToG has more non foot tickling scenes, I'd definetly have a very tough timing picking a favorite!

I don't really plan on getting cocky about my own game or anything. I wouldn't stack it up against other finished games. Maybe it's better, maybe it's not, I guess it comes down to opinion. Especially since I'm well aware I alienated a lot of people by scarcely doing any upper body stuff. So I know it's unfortunately not something everyone can fully enjoy. But thank you for the compliments.

It's just that as a gamer, and a long time fan of RPG Maker, what happened with ToG is sort of what almost always happens. x_X I'm not even above it or anything, myself. I lost count of how many unfinished games I have.

I just feel like what we've got with ToG is akin to a really, really great demo. I would absolutely love to see the game finished like everyone else, but I highly doubt it. After seeing hundreds of unfinished games from RPG Maker friends, myself, etc. it's just no longer something I can give much value to, despite the fact that the tickling content in ToG is unquestionably really great.

I dunno, maybe I'm just always so pessimistic about ToG because I could see this current state coming from the start, and I really didn't want it to happen, but it did, and that feels kind of depressing.

I understand completely. I think alot of people thought it was too ambitious from the beginning, especially since Deus wanted to do it all alone. Shame really, but I know it happens alot. Animewatcher's game is kind of the same, I think. (AW, if you read this, please prove me wrong. ^^)

Personally I don't really see it as a demo as there's (in my mind) too much content for that but I understand the point you were trying to make nonetheless!

I definetly agree that ToG will probably never be finished or even updated from it's current state, I didn't mean to imply that. 🙂

As for the lack of upperbody tickling in your game I don't think that's bad necessarily. As you've said before(if I remember correctly), there wasn't that much of it in other games before yours, and if you had to write scenes you didn't particulary enjoy you might've burned out, too. So I'm pretty sure it was the right decision. ^^

Sir, I perfectly agree with you.

And I'm a great Screamer fan, so no intention of blaming other game creators, ou contraire: I've so much respect for people that spend their time and energy just to make us to have fun, with the best work they can... and obviously they've fun too! 🙂

And now, a curiosity: once a time Screamer tell me that he was a huge fan of "Tower of Gargalesis" and that this game give him the inspiration for "Lala's Ordeal"...

I will forever remain faithful that this game will one day be complete. Its the same faith I have that the jets will win a superbowl in my lifetime. Both are unlikely. But I'm betting this game gets finished first.

This game is so sick, it needs to go to the hospital.
"The hospital? What is it?"
It's a big building filled with patients, but that's not important right now.
Deus, if you ever read this, I just want to say "good luck, and we're all counting on you."

Not to bring peoples hopes up, but for some reason, I was trying to find a way to get that game again since I lost it for some reason (unfortunately) and I happen to find the same name that included the third chapter. I downloaded it but because I no longer have it, I can't tell if its worth trying it or not. Here's the link for it. Just change from xx to tt.

Alright, since it doesn't look like he's coming back, I want to reiterate what was mentioned before.

There's a lot of content in the data files that wasn't put in the game. If you want to see where the game was going, and how close he got to the end, you can decrypt the data files, open them with whatever software, and inspect the scripts/scenes not playable.

Imo this is kinda misleading. There's SOME stuff in the data files that didn't make it ingame, but it's really not that substantial. Don't expect a new chapter, or something.

I agree with hellfire, the link is probably just the original game. 🙂

AHahah, ok guys, keep your calm! 🙂

You looks like some obsessed fun... should Deus Ex Procella be scared of finish his life like John Lennon?

Are you sure this is not just the original game he created?

As I said before hand I didn't want to bring anyone's hopes up and the next thing I do is shatter their motivation or worse. Plus I if I had that game again, I would've tried it myself and then tell you, not vice versa.

If I happen to create more trouble, then I apologize. 🙁

Okay, nevermind working on this game, but has Deus been anywhere on this website?

Well comparing to the answer given already, who knows what Dues has been up to lately. Weather or not that he decides to update then again, I miss it too much.

I've seen people talk about decrypting the files, but I was wondering if someone could tell me how exactly that was done

Uhm Hey... Not sure if it's a relevant point or not, but does anyone know how to decrypt an rpg maker vx Ace game/

I don't think anyone has really found a way yet. The decrypter I posted earlier only works for an older version.
