Chapter 4 is enormous, you'll probably need to collaborate to find everything.

However, like Spiral_Bomb said, I've got a job and a life that unfortunately keeps me from working on this. Thanks to my beta-testers, however, I should be releasing a bug free edition up to Chapter 3, with, if you're lucky, sprinklings of things to come.

Good going, DeuxExProcella! I haven't had time to really follow this project (but might very well have another look at it during my summer holidays). I've been busy myself (also with work and my own projects) but it's great to see that this one has become and is still so popular. Good job! My games aren't RPGs as you know (and I don't have the proper tool for making them easily) so looks like you definitely filled up a gap there! 🙂

Well, no concrete updates yet, but I'm working on one very, very last thing before I get going on chapter 4.

I'm not going to release any official details, even after it's done. I'll leave it to the community to figure out what and how to take advantage of the next patch.

I'll just leave you with this attachment (yeah crap quality, I use paint, sue me). Also my friends and co-workers won't stop going on and on about the next WoW expansion, so I couldn't resist making this.

There are essentially 3 sidekicks you get over the course of the game, and one is just an evolution of another.

Giggle Goblin is essentially the Good Karma sidekick. Since you have to let her go to get her to join you.

As of Chapter 4, there will be special Giggle Goblin sidequests where you can advance her personal mini-story. Over the course of that story, based on your karma, the Giggle Goblin will either become a Chuckle Oni (negative karma) or a Giggle Goblin Elite (good karma).

In Chapter 4, I'll be introducing the Bad Karma sidekick, Tanuki the Gargale Coon. She's more magically (technique) focused than the Goblin branch, and has a somewhat darker mini-story (basically you enslave her whereas the Giggle Goblin chose to join you).

I may make traditional "Summons" in a sense that you summon the Mamono, she does a spell, and then leaves, later on (if for no other reason than experimenting with the system).
 
Hmm, that grudge thing looks a little like a giggle goblin. Maybe if you didn't let her go when you had the chance? Just a guess, though.

out of curiosity, what is the lever order for the haunted house?

Edit: no longer needed, but still damn *has gotten further into the game*

Just posting to thank my beta-tester for the 4.6 BETA. He's doing a tremendous amount of work to ensure that this boss is doable.

I'm almost done with the work on the quest itself, it's just testing the fight that's taking the bulk of the time. It's nightmarish.

Edit: Please worship this man for putting up with this shit, it's unbelievable.

Hey, quick question here, um... how on earth do you beat the knismeshroom challenge? I keep fainting before I find all seven herbs :/ and I hold shift too and usually I make it to 6 before the spores take over. Maybe a map showing where all the herbs are would help?

To finish this challenge, you really need to know where all of them are, because you can't afford to take many unecessary steps. Do it a few times, figure out where they all are, then figure out the best route to get them.
 
Shift key always helps, and just like any beat the clock minigame finding the shortest distance while planning out the quickest route always helps

edit: Forgot to mention this, when I was doing my first run on the herbs I found a bonus scene. It's in the log when you first get into the forest through the entrance by the town

So normally I'm just a lurker, but I have to say, what you have here is an amazing game! It's incredibly addicting. Everything has been so well done, and I really have to tip my hat to you. I can't wait for the next update (but I will, since I really have no choice)
 
I think we're in the final stages of testing BETA 4.6. You guys will be in for a world of hurt once it's finally ready 😛 The game has been improved a thousand fold, you won't even recognize it! (okay...you will...but we've fixed an incredible amount of glitches, bugs, balance issues, etc.)

Good news for the mages, you are the best class to face the 4.6 boss with.
