Tower of Gargalesis (Tickling RPG M/F, F/F, F/M)

Deus is right. I think this will be the biggest challenge yet. That being an understatement really.

Finally good news for Mages... but seeing how we will have to wait long time before we get to that, oh well 😛

Aw man, too bad I chose thief, but since her weakness is her belly/bellybutton, I'd rather not have anyone else.

It shouldn't be more than a day or two before the next update is ready. My tester just has to test all of the cutscenes, and do a final test on the battle to see if it's possible. After that I'll be posting it.

Edit: The tester really just needs to test the fight again, I just ran through and fixed everything in the cutscenes.

I won't outright tell you anything except give a couple hints on how to activate the quest. After that you're on your own. This boss requires a buttload of strategy and my tester is actually testing her with a Slayer and until recently she was 99% impossible.

Edit: I think my beta-tester is about to kill me.

>> I kind of thought beelzebebe was better boss wise for the mage since you can set her on fire once and it was super effective. Have yet to experiment the usage of the ice element.

and im playing a slayer ...awesome. i shall expect my ass to be handed to me unless i under go some super hard training .....wait the monsters level up with me gahhh ! anyway cant wait for the update to hit 😀

Thank you for this really interesting game! The tickling scenes are so wonderfully erotic (though I definitely prefer the tamer ones over the more explicit -- an issue of personal taste, no doubt).

A question: Would it be possible to include the ability to choose your character's weak point at character creation, rather than having it tied to class?

Thanks again! I've played through twice and I intend to continue trying different classes -- if for no other reason than to see the unique failure scenes for the bar game!

I get the feeling that Deus is gonna be putting this in chapter 4 because he's hinted that he'll be adding "something that everyone has been asking for", not to mention that chapter 4 is supposed to be a HUGE update, but this is just speculation.

I've been following this for a while, and I'm now officially looking forward to it more than SWTOR. Keep up the great work, everybody!

I wanted to hold off on this...but...

7.17.10

BETA V4.6 - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WJWEBGNI

To activate the new content, you need to have completed the Lover of the Snow Maiden quest. After that, here are 3 guidelines to opening "The Grudge"

1. Re-Check areas you've only been to once (quest areas, etc)

2. Equip your shiny new Red Feather

3. If someone won't tell you something on the first try, try talking again, and again, etc.

So there you have it, have fun.

Also there were a lot of changes, some more drastic than others.

~If you start a new character, you'll see one of the biggest changes.

~Talking to the prison guard at the left desk will give you a rough explanation of your current reputation.

~The cost of flasks has been cut in half

~An outrageous number of bugs have been fixed and skills have been tweaked.

~Honey Bee has been fixed to give you more detailed quest information

There are other things, but I want to let you explore a bit to find them. If you get stuck, help each other out, try to figure this expansion out without my interference.

Good luck
~Kev

EDIT: OH GOOD GOD, GIANT ISSUE: Make sure you save OUTSIDE the Tickle Woods before loading up this version.

Well, I've been everywhere I can go and talked with everyone that I can several times and I'm not getting anything telling me about "The Grudge".

I really hope I don't have to start a new character to advance.

Finally figured out how to register around here. Anyway, Deus, great work on the RPG so far. I've just finished the grudge quest as a level 14 Mage. I have to say, that battle was extremely brutal. I now see why you give the player alot of items in the dungeon.

It took a few tries, but I managed to pull it off by outlasting her onslaught so that she had zero adrenaline to fight back with, bypassing one of the inbattle events where she powers up and starts attacking you twice every turn and healing alot more than usual. Status effects are abundant in this fight so make use of those fruits. I am still unsure about her barriers and how they affect the fight, but I did notice that her stamina didn't decrease at times even though I've attacked with tickle wisp (her violet barrier was up constantly when she was out of adrenaline) so I'm thinking that has something to do with it.

In terms of finding any bugs, I didn't come across any major ones. The chests in the forest area were closed again meaning I could reopen them for more items but it doesn't matter too much considering those items are now obsolete. The fairy in the forest that gets tickled by the spores was also reset so I gained like 50 EXP for free there too. Once again, not that big of a deal seeing as these bugs are only going to happen transferring saves from an older version of the game.

I do like the addition of the fairy that tells you your character's ticklishness on their various body parts too. I assume this will tell you exactly how your ticklishness rating affects damage taken when you start a new character too. Although, if you didn't specifically stated in your post about the conditions of starting this quest, I don't think anyone would've found it. Perhaps an NPC could have hinted at this quest? Or even having the little star thing over the NPC that initiates the grudge quest would have been enough.

Lastly, the items you get after finishing the grudge quest is definitely a nice prize (Unless you happen to be a slayer, since you get a talisman), however the accessory is VERY nice. I have also found my pet to be less useful in normal battles since it can't keep up with my levels and pretty soon boss battles at this rate.

EDIT: OH GOOD GOD, GIANT ISSUE: Make sure you save OUTSIDE the Tickle Woods before loading up this version.

To compound on Procella's word, let me just reiterate something he's said before.

You have 99 save slots. Make use of them. You never know when something unexpected may happen with the game coding. Personally everytime I save, I save a new slot, but you lot would probably do less than that. I'm approaching 99 in my file anyhow so once the next big update crawls along I'll be needing to create a second folder for the new save files.

Ok, I got the quest and beat the boss.

When you said she was hard, you weren't kidding! My god, it reminded me of when I fought Ultima Weapon in Final Fantasy 8. (Yes, I ment Ultima and not Omega. She's not on Omega's level.)

The fight isn't too bad until she goes into overdrive and starts taking two actions in one turn. This fight is hard as hell as a Thief, but it's doable. Just make ABSOLUTELY sure you a have a TON of healing potions and more than a few full heal items, if you can get them at this point.

I like how you get to choose where you want to tickle her when (or IF) you beat her, but I'm a little bummed that the belly tickle didn't include her bellybutton. Oh well, I anticipate that there will be at least some bellybutton tickling in chapter 4.

Good job Deus and all his supporting team! Keep on keeping on!

OMG as always - well worth the wait

after finishing the quest, I decided to do a fresh runthrough (just for fun)
the options are great although it seems that you can't override the original spot (no biggie)
so far the game's a bit harder since i decided to tell the truth when i answered those questions -but more fun🙂

the cuckoo egg quest has a little problem. when i try to give the doll to megan
she thanks me for saving her mommy, but that's it (she won't let me give her the doll)

again, another great quest

Fixed the Cuckoo Egg issue. Yeah you can't override the original class spot because that would effectively negate all of the class-specific scenes ("Why am I acting like this is the worst tickling ever? It's only a 1 in that spot!").

I hope some people figure out Queen Ambellina's gift...it's possibly the most useful reward this quest gives.

Have to say, I'm a bit disappointed how many people are completing this so easily 😛 probably thanks to the testers ensuring that the fight isn't broken, still I was hoping for a bit more frustration haha. Thankfully, The Grudge is only the first of 9 Superboss Quests. She's also comparatively the easiest of the 9 superbosses.

I try to take the Mamono graphic into consideration when writing the scenes. There will definitely be some in the next chapter.

Your pet is as good as you make her. Her stats are higher than yours and she's just overall better at tanking (unless you're a soldier). Bear in mind though that she's support and not the main attacker. You, the Outsider, are the chosen one. Your Giggle Goblin is just a slightly more powerful bottom tier Mamono.

Well, mark me down for somewhat confused, at least for now, about how the Grudge starts. I'm loathe to complain that a quest is too obscure, but it would be nice to get the ball rolling (and get something in the quest log) before confusing us too much. Ideally quests are findable without too much coaching, even if they're hard after that.

On the new character creation, is how many points we use at our discretion? Like, I could make a 1-1-1-1 char. very unticklish (and therefore an easy playthrough), or 4-4-4-4 and it'd be a hard-mode ball of ticklishness? I suppose that puts the onus on us as to how hard the game will be, but I was somewhat hoping for a set number of points that you have to use (having to choose between 1-1-2-4 or 2-2-2-2 or something). That'd make us choose between having an unbearable tickle spot or two or being balanced. But I suppose this makes it easier on you.

None of this is complaints, mind. Just voicing my thoughts and preferences. Glad to see a new update, and hope you're world is going alright. The more to this game there is, the better, and I'd help if I can!

Deus- I see your point on the spot overide -it makes sense
the new boss wasn't THAT easy. (don't get any ideas -lol)
anyway
i'm still playing through with the fresh start and it looks like
mamonna has completly lost her karma-based attack. she didn't use it at all.
(i'm not sure if that was on purpose)?
or perhaps because i didn't finish the cuckoo egg quest?

Hmm, I chose a lot of 4s at the beginning of a new playthrough, and I'm now having a tough time beating Lady Venus. Are those numbers simply to make the game more/less challenging, or is there a reason we would want them higher?

Oh shit that's because of a new Enemy AI script I'm using, which is supposed to improve enemy AI. They won't use a spell if the AI thinks it won't have any use, I need to fix Greed Core Wave lol.

Yeah, I'm glad she was challenging but I was hoping for more of a "If you don't learn the fight, you can't win" style. Unfortunately, it seems slight tweaks in either direction will completely throw off the balance, so I'll leave her as is. She's the easiest of the 9 superbosses.

@Carnivore - I may implement a limit to how many 1's you can have later, but for now I just wanted to get a basic system working. And technically, it's helpful for evening out balancing issues (omg too hard can be fixed by starting with more 1's).

@baronzogg - It's purely for personal preferences. Going all 4's means you take 200% damage from every body-part attacking ability. I wouldn't recommend it unless...you like losing.

I'll give you a hint on how to find The Grudge. It's in a forest.

I've been playing Final Fantasy 3 DS so, I've been in a "Nintendo Hard" or "Guide Dang It" mood lately. Also I wanted to do a lot of experimenting, so this quest has a lot of new things in it.

Interesting Note: The Spirit of Gargalesis is a story-mandated boss fight and is the most powerful Mamono in the world, a fact that WILL be enforced by game mechanics. If at any time you think a fight is too hard...remember that you're fighting Mamono who PALE by comparison. Look toward the future with a tic and nervous giggle.
