The slime isn't really too hard. I just lost because I thought I was supposed to use tickle and it would give me commands, since the old guy was talking about tickling in certain areas. Once I realized that wasn't the case and tried again a second time there was no problem. So there's not really an issue there.
The demo is pretty great. I'm trying it with all the classes to see how they are. I'm on my third playthrough now, and I've gotten the perma ocean thing every time now. My guess is maybe it only happened in a newer version that not many people got or played through in entirety because I was late to the party? Because yeah, I was thinking, "How is this not happening to other people?"
Ok, so one more thing. Honestly, I only tried this out of curiosity because someone did it in the game I made and my reaction was, "Wow, I didn't even think of that." If you change formation, Nadya isn't in the scene after. I'm guessing it's the same thing, because you're using "player" for events. You can do what you want with that information, of course. I just thought I'd let you know.
Ahhh now I see. Well I can make a correction to this with ingame dialogue that should let the player know what to use when a Mage.
Yea, the ocean thing is gonna be stamped out. Sorry you gotta deal with the soothing sound of crashing waves throughout the game. I'm sure it totally kills the mood with some scenes.
Huh! INTERESTING! Didn't even know you could do that without another party member. I'll have to do a quick search online and find out how to prevent you from swapping the leader/player position. Does all the dialogue with Nadya now appear as \N[1] as well?
What a bullcrap. I forgot to save because it was just a training session, then the slime got me. Now I have to restart a new game and go through the same slooo-hoow dialogue. I'll save next time, I will.
Ahaha looks like the plump slime has claimed another victim. I find it so funny that the tutorial enemy is also the one giving players the most deaths(from what I see anyways). Tell me, for the record, what class were you?
Paladin, Warrior, and Ranger are probably the best in the demo version, because it's solo and they can equip the heavy armor and minimize damage. I know I've seen some comments about the Paladin being good, which she really is, but I'm going to be a rebel and pick Ranger here. Ranger is amazing. Ranger has a much better attack than Paladin, IIRC, and once you use that weakening move, things just don't damage you anymore, e.g. cave boss. Pretty awesome class so far.
The mage doesn't seem to out damage the other classes, on the contrary, I was doing less damage, and with limited MP. But it's a mage, so there's no telling how awesome she will get later.
YESSSS More class talk. Love it.
The good part is that all classes are going to feel incredibly strong right now since you're solo. I don't want the Mage's weak defense to come into play right here and have players getting 1-shot, nor do I want a Paladin's damage to become godawful right now to where it takes you 5 minutes to go through one fight. However, you'll start to feel your class's weakness and strength once you're past the demo. The further you continue solo, the harder and harder things will be.
Still, going solo will let you have access to the 2 girls later on that I'm sure will be challenging to get to. And thankfully they'll party up with you when you meet so you can see if "this is the girl for me" while also being able to do something during the fights designed for 2+ party members.
Class specialties will also slowly be coming into play. For example, a Pally is all about tanking and saving teammates. Kind of hard to see that when you're all by yourself
😛 Rangers alter enemy stats making it easier for other party members to survive or deal damage. Rogues deal high damage like the Mage, but have more status effects that can improve party member damage for a short time on particular body spots. Warriors are the all-around class, being a bit tanky, a bit damagy, a bit aoe'y. They don't completely shine in one category, but like in most games they tend to be the good, balanced, solo guy. As for Clerics, they're the main healers and buffers of the group. Not too terrible on the damage or defense, but still nothing compared to the classes that specialize in them.
And that's just the base. I'll have items in the game that you can tailor some weird builds to. Want a really tanky Mage or Rogue? Might just happen, though you'll lose some damage potential to do it. Want a high damaging Paladin? You'll Pew Pew Pew but be a bit weaker defensively. This way, you're not forced to just 1 class, nor 1 monster girl who fills the role.
About the Mage...Yea, you're dealing with "level 1" spells with the Mage right now. She gains access to higher damaging versions as she levels. Glass cannon 101 right there. Too bad you weren't here earlier; the Mage was doing 500 damage to all enemies with one spell :stickout
