I like the idea of the Dress Card as being similar to the Experience Orb from Valkyrie Profile. I don't like the exp from soul eggs as much, since they're pretty rare and giving X% of a normal trash mob's exp won't make much impact. And to make them have a meaningful impact on exp, you might need to mess with their rarity, which could make them into spammy drops (bad) or make you spam turn-ins at the guild (worse).

Would be neat if we had a way to choose how much of our EXP gets absorbed in the Dress Card, so we could just use our best class to "power level" our other classes and catch up.

i'll look into it! for what it's worth, i made the dress card gain 25% of the experience you gain from every fight, bosses included. i wanna see how it works through chapter 1 and 2 and if it's just way too grindy, i can just up the percentage until it feels right.
 
Are you still using the google browser version or is the indiexpo the newer version of the browser game?
 
In the goggledrive version while grinding a bit is Sugarheart I keep getting audio errors that freeze me like 1 or two battles in....

try now. googledrive is likely running into problems due to my bandwidth T_T

I'm able to wander around Sugarheart just fine, but there's no combat music. the files are there, so it's probably due to the bandwidth.

to answer your first question: indiexpo will be the most polished version. the googledrive is basically the beta-testing environment since i can patch it in seconds. anything i'm testing out has a chance to show up on that version so it's stability is all over.

Yep, I meant foregoing some % of current gains to redirect them to the card.

i will try to figure out how to do that, i like that idea. your "maxed out" classes can opt out of exp up to a degree to put it on the backburner for another class.

scene a lot, but it felt like the second climax was downplayed a bit instead of ending with a bang.
 
Suggestion for a small quality of life bump.

After the first explanation about demon soul eggs, maybe put repetition of the tutorial-ish stuff behind a yes/no dialog with the default choice being "no." That way when people spam egg turn-ins or whatever, they won't have to go through as many screens of repetitive text if they mess up. Alternatively, could move the explanation/repetition onto a bookshelf, guild poster, or something like that.

i can definitely do that. a lot of things like that are mostly laziness on my part -.- but i agree, and it's easily doable.

if download, go to www, audio, se and see if Thunder2.ogg is there. if not, i can just pm you the file. it should be though.

I re-uploaded all audio files on the Drive version. The indiexpo version should be perfect, I'm playing it myself. I'll let you know if I run into anything.

edit: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! SUPER HAPPY with the change I made to the Rogue's Trap Card. took me forever and a day to get the coding right, but SO SUPER COOL.

if anyone with the windows version runs into ANY missing SE files, download this:

replace your SE folder with this one, this is EVERY SE i will likely use making the game. it makes the file size bigger so i've been stripping out unused assets. apparently sometimes things get lost so this will help.

in the future, i'll likely be uploading just 3 folders for new releases: img, js, and data. those three folders contain 99% of all the updates. if any new music is used, i'll include an audio folder as well, but moving forward it should be way easier to just provide these folders and have you place them in your www folder.

as an aside...if anyone wonders why i respond to this thread almost obsessively...i work from home so i'm at my computer like 99% of the day.......

that makes me sound much sadder than i really am.....
 
Hmm, anyone have any tips for Jinko and Kitsune?

For kitsune you MUST play as Wizard class.

For Jinko, you should pick Warrior class, and pray that she focuses on Miller Lite until you are able to give her significant amounts of damage.

Shiny circlet that you get for that sidequest with statues in forest is useful too, because it heals a little bit of your HP each turn.

Oh and stock on red potions(And blue ones in case of Kitsune), they will be useful since those classes can't heal themselves with spells.
 
By the way, once you start the Jinko mission, is it impossible for other monsters to appear? Because if so then I think I may have screwed myself as Angela is way too weak for Jinko and I have no way of grinding or leaving then.

yeah .-. unfortunately, the monsters know better than to attack you when traveling as a pair.

that's why the mission does have several confirmations saying to not start it until you're absolutely sure you're ready.
 
I don't think you use it. I think it was just accidentally put in the wrong category. I'm fairly certain it's supposed to be a key item. You just own it. It stays in your inventory as proof of where you are in the game.
 
Quick question: I've gotten demon soul eggs from the random monsters in the 2nd area. Can I get them from the randoms in the 1st area as well? If so, I got some extra hunting to do...
