Just finished playing the 29/03 release... I'm a bit late, but let me say: it's a beautiful chapter.
The writing
The scenes of this release are awesome. All of them were written quite skillfully, some were very sensual (even unexpectedly so, like the batgirl's). But, of course, the honorable mention must go to the kitsune. I just loved all the interactions between Angela and that foxgirl, not only because they had a strong charge of naughtyness, but also because they managed to convey very well that "prey vs predator" feeling that makes monster girls such a fascinating concept in the first place.
Profession-dependant quest system
I think this system is overall a nice thing. I find the mechanic simple, intuitive, a bit over-the-top perhaps (from a narrative standpoint), but able to work well with the style of this particular game. Also, it allows the author to be creative with the combat system and prevents boredom, which in the long run can be a really important thing... so I would recommend building on it as much as possible. The "dress card" is a nice idea too, since excessive grinding is definitely a risk with this kind of gameplay.
Balance suggestions
Nothing major, really. I'll just leave a couple of suggestions for the future:
1) Miller Jr. has interesting skills, but very little freedom to use them, with such a small energy pool. I guess this was intended to block the player from spamming the mystic rune, which is fine, but... could you give him some kind of mechanic to regain energy? Like an energy-stealing attack, or a meditation skill, or whatever you feel appropriate; that guy is horribly fragile, to the point that you have to waste energy potions on him to ensure he would not die... and like Angela said, I get the feeling we'll get to see him again.
2) Talking about the warrior profession, could you buff a bit "Iron Will"? Maybe slightly raise the adrenaline gain, or give it a small healing bonus. That skill was clearly meant to be crucial during the Jinko fight and the Bitterbug random fights; I guess it will have uses in future releases as well, but as it is now, healing salves are objectively better in most situations.
The future...?
I wonder if it could be possible to involve at least some of the "souls" of the defeated monsters in some dedicated secondary quest. I feel it would be such a waste for this game to characterize so many monster girls, and then just let them locked in the soul prisons forever. Please understand, I'm not thinking of anything as cheesy as "make the soul gems become pokeballs". But... when the kitsune tempted Angela into releasing her, I couldn't help but wonder, what if something like that actually had to happen someday? What if during a quest, our girl found herself for whatever reason in desperate need of the magic, the knowledge or the strength of a specific monster to bypass some obstacle, and had no choice but to actually barter for the help of that monster by giving her some reward? Either letting the monster vent some pent-up frustration over her, or allowing the monster temporarily free as a hunting partner... this game has already several interesting characters that could shine in that kind of situation, with backgrounds just barely hinted at that could be explored.
On another subject, I admit that I am very curious about Angela's unseen soulmate, but it's not the only character that I'd love to know more about. Captain Morrigan, for some reason, interests me. As useful as it may be as a simple quest giver and as a straight foil for Angela's crazyness, she's also the veteran-behind-a-desk archetype and looks to me like the kind of woman that could actually give Angela a life lesson or two (something Angela desperately needs...). It would be nice to discover something of her background, and to see her emotionally involved with some of the biggest bounties and quests that Angela will get in the future. After all, as far as we know, she probably has already fought against many of the worst monster girls that threaten her village... maybe she has some past with them that could be shared with the protagonist. Hate, regret, maybe even attraction... there are lots of options there.
Anyway, great job. I can't wait for the next release!
