Whatchu playing?

How complicated is Guild Wars? Is it tough to learn for someone who hasn't MMORPG'd in awhile?

To answer that question, I need refer you only to this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ax-_06Acj8Y

So to put it simply: Two hours or so with someone to explain it to you and you'll be set to go.

You have to pay for the game itself, but I feel it's worth noting that you do NOT need to pay any monthly fees like a lot of other mmos.

Actually, it went F2P recently, but there are a bunch of restrictions. You get less Character slots, bag slots, no map chat, can't mail items/gold to other players, can't trade gold for gems, and don't get access to guild vaults, get to lvl 10 before you leave the starter zones, lvl 30 before using LFG, and lvl 60 before doing World vs World.

Really? Huh. How long have I been gone....

Well, I still payed 60$ for the thing, so they better not take any of my privileges away.

I think I'm actually gonna update the game and dick around for a bit to see for m'self.

Well I think they give you some perks for being a paid account, but you still have to pay the full game price ($50) for the Heart of Thorns expansion.

Ive been playing Fallout 4. Love these sorta games as they give me days if game play and Im not even 1/4 of the way through. Plus the DLC is actual added content as opposed to content already in the game that Im paying to unlock.

Imma just update the game and ask my guildies.

...

Well fuck me sideways, at 6MB/s it's gonna take me like.. 15 minutes to update the game.

HOW MUCH DID I MISS!?!?

It might have something to do with the F2P and Christmas updates? Not sure what all is making that update take so much space.

M'kay so y'know my previous statement that my guild mates aren't "Like us?"

Well... Fatal errors may have been made when I said that, because I decided to stop by and pay my guild mates a visit.

Turns out, the founder of the guild was also visiting after about 2 years away. He and I decide to do some hanging out. I show him a glitch that basically lets you get under the map.

As soon as he was under the map, and we found some people, he went up underneath them, and began to lick, suck, and tickle the feet of every last person he came across, whilst I stood on the safety of a hanging log, trying to remain as casual as I possibly could; playing the straight man to his fool.

He could have just been fucking around, but my 6th sense tells me that he was enjoying himself a bit more than he led on; not to mention that the whole thing lasted a helluva lot longer than most friendly jokes do.

I have absolutely no idea what to believe. So, imma just do this:

Segra Ironclaw, if you happen to be on this forum, your guild buddy from that day says "hi."

That's fucking amazing xD

Senshi and I have been playing Disgaea 5. The amount of tickling references and more than just references in this game is amazing.

Disgaea 5 would be one of the very few reasons for me to get a PS4 sometime in the future. That's just one more reason for me to get more excited for it.

Still some League with friends, but by myself I've been trying to work my way through a couple of RPGs.

Shin Megami Tensei IV for the 3DS is a really interesting game, but it's a little obtuse and weird, takes a while to get the mechanics down. Basically taking the collection/typing mechanics from something like Pokemon and a really trippy plot, with some exceptionally difficult bosses that pretty much require you refight them to learn their gimmicks.

Also been trying out Xenoblade Chronicles X for the Wii U, which I picked up on Christmas. That game is super dense, and there's a ton to do, so I feel like I've barely scratched the surface of it, and can't say too much about it yet. It's good, though.

Does the red haired feathered outfitted heroine get put in a tickle torture machine or something?

I'm not gonna spoiler or anything, dude. But while that may not happen exactly, it's still worth at least looking up if you're curious, or playing the game if strategy/rpg/boardgame-like maneuvers are your bag. And even if it's not--it's not Senshi's bag but he's enjoying the hell out of it, and not just for the references xD

All I have time for these days is League of Legends. Before my PC died, I sunk a lot of hours into Guild Wars. I haven't had a chance to play GW2, but it's the first thing I'll get as soon as I get another PC put together.

My sibling purchased a PS4 recently, so I might plunk some cash down and pick up Fallout 3 and 4. I have played FO3, but haven't had a chance to finish it before my PC died. So, might as well...

Fair enough but can you let me know if the game involves button timing puzzles or button combos? That will be a major factor in whether or not I buy it.

Also, apparently Squeenix might be going with the Final Fantasy XV combat route with the Final Fantasy VII remake but I hope I'm wrong on that. Does anyone know if it will still be for the PS4? I swear to god though if they dress Tifa in her advent children outfit I will RAGE...

No, nothing like that. It's standard rpg fare, walk your character onto the field and open their menu to choose which of their attacks you perform on which character, turn based ^_^

Ahhh...the best type of RPG...😀...heh, thankies Impster. 😉

I just wish they'd give us a sequel to Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions ya knows?

Playing good old Earth Defense Force 4.1. Video game equivalent of a sci-fi/horror b-movie from the sixties. Like Dynasty Warriors (huge open battlefield, hundreds and hundreds of enemies on screen at once, kill counts in the hundreds or thousands), but you play as soldiers with guns/tanks etc, and the enemies are al either a) giant insects/spiders, or b) giant robots/mechs. Corny with a capital 'C', but great fun.

Senshi bought Yakuza 5 for me (well for us really we both enjoy the series but I get frickin' obsessed when we're playing one xD) And we've been playing for a few nights now. Just now starting to get into the meat of the story--one thing about this series is that it can feel more like watching a drama than playing a game, with fifteen minute cutscenes (no exaggeration). But I love seeing the characters again <3 Anybody else a fan of the series?

Trainz Simulator 2

I can never resist those simulator games. If they port Eurotruck Simulator or American Truck Simulator to the PS4, I will be a VERY happy panda.

And I'm currently playing Just Cause 3, and obsessively liberating the fuck out of everything in sight. 😛 For an attention-span-challenged individual myself, it's perfect. Detonating one of those massive concrete four-lane bridges whilst car-surfing across it and seeing how far you can get never gets old. Neither does attaching rockets to the underside of a car and blasting off like Team Rocket. Usually a bit fatal, but worth it.

Considering the ridiculous stranglehold game companies have over people for absolutely no reason these days, I give it not too long before the only viable answer I could give for this thread is Monopoly/Candyland Bingo/Reading actual books.

Actually, Fallout 3 is good, but Fallout New Vegas is AWESOME!

I disliked obsidian Entertainment for the longest time for dropping the ball on every game they ever made before this.

But after playing New Vegas several times, I'll go on the witness stand and defend them to my death!

Replaying Crystal Dynamics' reboot of Tomb Raider. Not exactly that much LIKE the old Tomb Raider games, but still a lot of fun. Fantastic platforming, decent combat, just the right amount of collectibles (i.e. they didn't go absolutely mental like the Riddler trophies in Arkham Knight), generally a well-paced game. Looks pretty, too.

Also, interesting tidbit - I recently heard on one of those YouTube lists (Danger Dolan or Gameranx I think) that Lara's massive breast size in the original Tomb Raider was actually a programming error that got approved by the team before the coder could rectify it. Take it with a pinch of salt, but if it's true, it's funny.
